I am now looking at my bed. I appreciate the help for keeping the truck clean, both in and out. There are a couple of things needing to be done now with the exterior.

1. I do have some small rust spots (if combined, it will be about the size of a dollar bill). Waiting for the estimate to fix it.

However, the second point is where I can use advise. And I will have a poll.

2. I am looking for a spray in bed liner. In my area I only have two options: Rhino or Leonard.

The Rhino is going to be about $700, and it is their hard version. The second, Leonard, is running a special and they are $587.16.

I have never heard of Leonard, and the price is better for my budget, but I would hate to spend the lesser amount and regret it later. However, budget is important. I don't mind saving, just need to know which to save for (I almost have enough for Leonard).

So, poll incoming, and once you answer, please share which one and why. Thanks.

Before being mentioned, the closest Line-X I have is several hours away, so unfortunately that is going to be impractical for me. I have heard mixed reviews of Line-X, and I am sure they are good, but I am trying to stay local.

I linex’d my 01 in 02. It was still holding up just fine when I sold it in 2017 with 385k miles on it. Aside from the black color fading a bit it was still in great shape.

My 2017 had it linex’d within a week of getting it home. Same thing was holding up great when I traded it in on the 22

My 22 has the factory Bedliner I hope it holds up. I almost did not do the factory liner because of my experience with linex but thought I would save a couple hundred and not have to mess with getting it done again I hope it holds up.

Never heard of Leonard.

3rd truck with Line-X (this one is factory) and zero issues.

Friend's with Rhino are usually all cut up and they look like sh*t. Friend put it on the front lower edges of his RV and it too looks like sh*t all the time. They do grip stuff better but if it's more about looks, I'd go the Line-x-ish type.

I didn't know Rhino had a "hard" version so maybe that's more robust. Images I've seen, it still looks like a$$ compared to Line-X.

Really depends on your use case.

Buy once, cry once is my motto. Buy the very best you can afford and you'll usually be money ahead.

I understood the factory to be a subsidiary of Line-X, they maybe just coat it slightly thinner. Didn't really seem any different than what I had on my 04 2500 other than that one was over the rail which you can't do on these trucks with the stupid plastic bed rail covers.

Thank you all for the thoughts. I know many who have Line-X, but the only installer here closed down in the last couple of years. From what I have seen, and talked with (granted it is with the Rhino guys themselves) the applicator, their hard line is as thick as the Line - X.

I think I have seen maybe one of their beds, but that was when I didn't need to buy one. I spent some time looking online and the only reviews I have seen shift the question from Leonard to Line X. Very few have actually said their thoughts of Leonard, so I don't know. This causes me to hesitate, but in a nuteral position. If something is really bad, the internet explodes with bad reviews. If something is excellent, then there will be those who will jump on threads like this and speak up.

Leonard...silence all across the board. Either that means they are good but not as well known, or they are 'meh' but not enough to warrant feedback online. I don't know. The price is much better, but I would hate to spend the $500 when just $200 more will get me a better liner. And this is not just for looks. I use my truck. I use it to tow my camper, camping gear, a small trailer, log splitter. The bed is usually loaded up with wood, tools, trash, furniture, etc. And when I say loaded with wood, I stack it. Not to unsafe levels, but I go over the side wall of the truck itself if I know I am not going far. If I am going far, then I take it to the level of the bed, perhaps one layer more.

So I do want the sides protected as well. Since Line-X is no longer in operation, that leaves these two options. But if they are the same, the extra $200 savings is a huge help.

As for the hard line, here is a link: https://rhinolinings.com/liners/hardline/

I appreciate the feedback though on the Line-X. I just don't have anyone around me that does it.

I drive about two hours to get line-x on my trucks. Not a rhino fan and never heard of the other.

The Leonard looks a lot like Line-X. I saw one reference that it's a branded Velox liner. They claim "better than Line-X."

Couple images I saw, it looked similar to Line-X.

Interesting. I had not seen that. However, I do have an interesting update in a minute.

Have an interesting update. I found the contact info for the Line-X installer that was here in my area. I reached out to him and asked him. He said to avoid Leonard, total junk. However, He did recommend the Rhino guys in my area as well. If the Line-X recommends the Rhino, that is good for me.

I will have to save a little more for it, but I am going to go with Rhino.

I've had five or six trucks rhino lined and never had an issue with them. They feel thicker and a bit stickier than line-x to me. I do prefer line-x these days because it feels harder if that even makes any sense.. But I still wouldn't hesitate for rhino.

Thank you for the input. Since the update, I have had three friends also speak of this Rhino applicator, and all three said he does an amazing job. One has also had three trucks and each one has been used as hard as I use mine, and he also said he has never had issues either. So I feel more confident about it.

As for feeling stickier, or thicker, I do understand what you are saying, and I appreciate that as well.
