DPF on backorder, Stellantis not helping

2021 HO 3500 threw a code requiring the DPF to be replaced. My truck is sitting at a dealership for a month now waiting on the part. It was initially said to be on backorder with a delivery of 2 weeks. 2 weeks went by, no part. They said another 7-10 days...still not part. Now, they say on another 7-10 days again for the expected delivery, yet no tracking information etc. The problem is that it happened up in MA, and I live in FL. I compete around the country with my horses. I was up north, and just about to leave for FL with the horses when the truck broke down. So I sit here in now freezing temps, living in the camper part of my trailer, paying additional rent for stabling of the horses, and no clue when I can leave. They never gave me a rental because they said they don't have a comparable model. I'm stranded, horses are cold, and my water lines are starting to freeze up. Has anyone recently received a DPF? It seems some online parts stores claim to have them in stock. Dealership is trying to tell me that they aren't available anywhere. I understand this part is in high demand recently, but my truck is labeled "off road " and still nothing is happening. Stellantis has a case but they won't answer or return my calls after the 1st inquiry. The man said it was shipping out and he would get me the tracking, but its been crickets.

They have been in and out of backorder for a few months now.

I had the DPF in my 2023 2500 replaced early November of this year. I dropped the truck off early October and was notified of the backorder at that time. Took roughly 4 weeks for my dealers shipment of DPFs to come in and then another day or two for the work to be completed. Per my dealer they generally keep a quantity of them on hand as they are a fairly regular replacement item. They did have several trucks in at the same time awaiting the same repair.

Any chance that someone can pull your trailer with the horses back to FL? At least the horses will be warm.

Open a Ram care case. They have them but are saving them for emergency repairs. Ram care can expidite you one if they feel like your one of the select. So open a case and see what they can do.

They expedited mine for my personal truck and another one for my work truck. I have been a thorn in their side so maybe that has something to do with it.

Dealer here has a lineup of trucks in the back waiting for various parts. Some have been waiting months supposedly. Everything for Ram seems to be backordered. My wife's Honda on the other hand got in and out of the dealer in very timely fashion for a couple of recent recalls. A couple of friends here have GMC trucks and the dealer takes care of their issues very quickly. I think it is highly dealer dependent and Ram does not have a very good dealer network for some reason.

That is the last resort at this point, but honestly I would have to drive with whomever is hauling my precious cargo!

I already did that. Still waiting.

Sadly, after this experience I have been looking at GMC's after being a loyal Ram customer for 30+ years. I have have heard though, that GMC's have their issues too!

Any idea what the code was? I’m thinking if it’s just the PO2459 you CAN still drive it, it will just be in regen. Did the truck have any message in the dash or just a CEL?

Been waiting for a DPF since October. Dealer says no ETA. Luckily my trucks driveable but regens every 300miles

Truck tried to regen, but failed, then went into reduced power mode and the dash lit up like a Christmas tree. "See dealer" message.
I was pulling my trailer and could barely go 25mph. Limped back to the stable, unhooked, and had it towed to dealer. Definitely not driveable. Especially the 1500 mile trip back to Florida.

MAF sensor is getting replaced as well. 36k miles and never had an emissions issue prior. All maintenance is done on time with Mopar filters.

I went to 43k with no issues and it went south fast. Keep everything documented and dont let them brush it off as something little.
