Truck has had no issues other than a bad starter.

I baby this truck and use it as my daily. Mileage between last regens was 728 miles.

Driving home from work (cruising 60mph) check engine light comes on. Truck still diving normal. No noticeable noises or issues. I drive it straight to dealer.

Dealer has it for one day and calls to tell me truck needs a complete new Diesel Particulate Filter. He stated that the data is showing the truck is not completing regens completely and they have seen this to be common. Said its 2 weeks out and truck is perfectly fine to drive normal until it comes in.

Anyone experience this before?
Is it really ok to drive for 2 weeks until parts come in?

Thank you for feedback!

What code did it throw?

I recently had my DPF replaced under warranty at 21K miles on my 2023. It falls under this TSB and I was aware of it prior to taking it on.

Oddly enough my truck has not exhibited any of the symptoms in the TSB, rather the tech suspects that the media inside the DPF either cracked or separated from the housing as I had soot bypassing the media and building up in the tailpipe.

Seems like this should be a recall, since they've identified the problem and the trucks these bad DPF's were installed on. I feel like I should make a lot of short, low speed trips with my '22 until it throws the code.

Dealer called and said no updates on parts. Truck has already been sitting there for a week. He said there are 6 trucks there all waiting for new DPF.
Super frustrating.

Has anyone seen improvement after new DPF has been installed?

Mine sat at the dealer for 3.5 weeks waiting on a shipment of DPFs to roll in. Fortunately I was on vacation for 2 of those weeks at the time.

I haven’t noticed any difference in power or fuel economy. I had my first regen at around 650 miles since install a few days ago and it took roughly 17 miles of highway driving to complete, which has been the norm for me.

I was just told they are on backorder til Jan. 25th with a $4000 cost to replace!

What’s your trucks situation, there’s more than the 3/36k Mike warranty on emission components. There’s also a tsb regarding faulty DPFs

I just got my truck back on Friday with new DPF. So far so good no regens and DPF gage is still at empty. The dealer told me they had 10 other trucks there all waiting on DPF to come in.

What year and mileage is your truck?
2020 2500, 70,000 miles, 15000 of those towing a 13000lb 5th wheel. Other than that normal around town or with a small trailer 1500lbs up north 2 trips totaling 7000 miles. I dont beat the truck or do whole shots.
