New HD owner. Anything I need to know?

I'm new to the world of HD trucks and am looking for guidance and advice on things I should be doing to keep her running at her best. I just purchased a 2500 SRW. I am in love with this truck and don't want to do anything wrong.

I am a travel nurse and pull my 42 ft fifth wheel while working. I have always used a hotshot move it but needed to learn to do it on my own so I now I have the truck that can do the job.

Please be kind. I am just a girl trying to make sure I never do anything to damage my new truck. Any suggestions on maintenance, extra things i should do, things to watch out for ...all the stuff a girl needs to know about her truck. Thank you in advance for any guidance you offer.

Big trailer! Nice truck from what i can see.

Something i did / liked was the firestone ride rite air bag setup with the blue tooth controller. That will help the ride and level the truck up.

Firestone All-In-One Wireless: 2884 - Rear Kit​

Replacement Air Spring: 6873​


otherwise keep up with maintence. Learn to do your fuel filters yourself as its super easy, just messy. I personaly run nothing but amsoil oil. Use OEM filters for air/oil/fuel. Since your towing heavy and prob often, service the trans around 50-60k. If something happens to the trans that's the first thing they will ask you.

The other thing alot of us run is Archoil fuel additive. Helps keep the system clean and cut down on the regens. but thats optional. https://www.archoil.com/products/ar6500-diesel-treatment


Otherwise, not much you have to do. and watch for idiot drivers. they see a trailer they feel you are in their way even though your doing 80! lol

Thank you. I Love this truck. It may be a 2022 but only has 24K miles. I really like the idea of airbags. They may make pulling feel a little better. I move to a new location every 13 weeks and pull around 20K lbs. I definitely need to learn how to do the fuel filters. I got an error message that said "water in fuel drain filter" about a week after my last oil change. I took it back in and it was $640. I need to learn ASAP!!!

Thank you so much for your advice. I just ordered the fuel additive and it will be here tomorrow. I'll be using it!

there are to fuel drains on that truck. In the rear above the Driveshaft, on the bottom of the housing there is a plastic nob. undo that and it will drain there. The other Which shouldnt have any water but to be safe is on the driver side of the motor closer to the firewall down between the block and fender. there is a drain screw there as well. I will take fuel line and shove it up in the plastic line so i can direct the flow into a catch can rather then have it dump all over the axle.
 
Details on trailer?

Your first order of business may be to trade your new truck in on something more capable.
