Extended Warrenty

As I am preparing to get my next truck, one of the expensis I am budgeting for is an extended warrenty.

I know all the jokes of their phone calls, so I am aware of the scammers. However, I also know, from my mechanic, that they do work with reputable services.

My question is, who here has purchased extended warrenties, who did you buy from, and how were they?

Right now the top contender I priced is Endurance. The one I have been warned about is Car Shield. But I have only been hearing and have been doing fine print reading.

I would appreciate real world experience. Thanks.

A follow up question: What would be a good extended warranty range? 10yr/100K mile? 7yr/86K? What is suggested?

The main question is do you drive a lot or does it sit a lot base it on that I don’t drive mine a lot so I got an eight year 120 thousand mile. Keep in mind it is tacked on to your three year warranty so you end up with an extra five years I got mine from Mopar.

You don't say what year truck.
At the time of OP, I was not sure which I was going to get for certain. I will try to post some pics, but I ended up with a 2020 2500 with the 6.4L gass. It has 86,000ish miles on it.

Yes and no. I usually put on about 6k miles a year or so, but that depends on my travels with the family. This coming year is going to be more because we will be going to WY, MT, ND, SD, and NE. At least right now we are. Usually it is about 6k and on the outside 7k a year. The summer is when majority of that hits the ODO. During the winter, early spring, and late fall, it goes back to an around the house work truck. I do not believe there is any warranty left on it, so I would be starting from scratch.

I looked and am looking at Carcheck, Endurance, Mopar, and there may be one more I am unsure of right off the top of my head. I just got out of a Tundra that over the course of ownership I sunk about $10K into it just in repairs. I don't want that with this truck, since it is bigger so probably more expensive. Had the Diffs checked, the transfer case fluid, and a few other things. It all looks really good.

I will give more detail when I try to post pictures, but that may be a while, and so, this truck is an old lease truck from down south. It is very clean. There are a few things I am wanting to also do with it bu I will put that into the 4.5 gen forum since I now know what I got.
