Picture it: I-75, somewhere a bit north of Atlanta. Mid-July. A live chicken delivery truck crashes and overturns, spilling a mixture of live chickens, dead chickens, and now chicken parts on to the very hot pavement and completely blocking all lanes of traffic for hours as the remains and manure rapidly putrefy in the sun.

I'd guess that was 1988 or so and the smell still sticks with me. I'll take a vegan truck crash any day.
