Did RAM ever have a Black exterior color that was non-metallic ? I am considinering doing this option and replacing my Matte Tradesman Door handles .. but I need to go with a gloss black non metallic version to make it look right.

On the 2019+ HD's solid black is a low volume color so, it looks like you might be SOL getting door handles with the passive entry buttons.

Yeah .. it seems Brilliant black is the best available .. seems to be black with black metal flake .. as opposed to Diamond Black which is black with silver flake.

On the 2019+ HD's solid black is a low volume color so, it looks like you might be SOL getting door handles with the passive entry buttons.

Unfortunately the low volume colors were only available for the tradesman and bighorn, which didn’t have proximity entry as an option….

I am interested in the passive entry for my 2024 RAM Tradesman with crew cab.
Correct me if I am wrong, but I am thinking
I would order one driver side front left proximity handle - 1UJ81RPXAI
and three passenger side front right proximity handles - 1UJ86RPXAI (modifying one that will be use on the front rear with the old release flap).
and Rear antenna- 56046957AA

I also would like to get the wiring harness kits you offer.
Looking at the picture wouldn't the rear wires require the plugs for the proximity handle wiring?

@Jimmy07 Quick question as I can't seem to find it here. I finally got my handles to add passive to my rear doors, was wondering which wires in the sill harness I need to tap into on each side.

You would buy two passenger side proximity handles. You can’t use a driver side proximity handle on the rear because it has a key hole in it. Since you’ll be mounting a passenger side handle on the driver side rear door, the release flap will be upside down. So, you would remove the flap from your current driver side rear handle, and install it in the correct spot on the new passenger proximity handle.

Then, you would run this custom wiring kit to connect the rear door handles to the front door handle wires located under the driver and passenger side front door sills. View attachment 42685

Thank you for this. I'm 20 pages in to that thread and, so far, it does look like it is able to be done relatively cheaply.

This is actually the better thread and details the HD Ram install in posts 9 & 10. I can supply the door harnesses that are needed.
