4 Months now waiting on my new transmission for my 2022 Ram 2500 (under warranty / 40k miles). I understand some of you have waited this long before but does anyone know any unofficial way I can get a status update from Ram’s Warranty Department? Customer Care isn’t able to contact the separate warranty dept and the dealership has no direct way other than receiving a confirmation code acknowledging my warranty ticket/claim. I’m digging because I’m in the Army and I will PCS across the country in the near future. Any advice is appreciated!

Four months is a longer than the recent “norm” for this issue, but also not unheard of.

Did your dealership apply for the required parts kit to repair the transmission, or did they request a completely new replacement transmission?

What part of the country are you (and the truck) located in?

From what they’ve told me they have asked for a new transmission and listed my problem as “internal failure”. Outside of that I do not know. Truck is in Watsonville, CA.

I don't know if you want to go this route but if a vehicle (registered in California) is out of service for 30 days cumulative or 3 failed repair attempts of the same problem while under warranty it is eligible for a Lemon Law repurchase (assuming you are the original owner). It might be limited to the B2B warranty constraints but I'm not sure.

Sorry I was thinking you had an Aisin failure.
Being that it’s a 68RFE and you need a complete transmission, I could see how that wait would take a while. With 24 production coming to a close and the 68RFE production ending permanently I’m sure they’re not producing excessive numbers of that unit. I do not really have any good contacts to share with you unfortunately. When i incorrectly thought you had a failed Aisin, i was going to suggest you get your transmission fixed at an independent shop and then submit for reimbursement but that may not be the way to go in your situation.

Recently had my truck in to 3 dealers for the same issue. Third dealer figured out the issue and ordered parts. This became a long waiting game. Ramcares offered to get a specialist or something involved with the dealership but I declined as it had not been as long as your experience. My truck was in and out of dealers and then marooned at a dealer from August-October. In your case I would contact @RamCares directly on this forum - they will reply. By the way thank you for your service. I don't know what legal rights you have but in my case I just wanted my exact truck back and I am sure you feel the same way so a little push to get your parts in may solve things.

I messaged them a couple days ago on ramforum.com to see if they are able to help at all. No word yet.
Chris from Ramcares has been helping me for a few months. I couldn’t get my initial case manager to call me and he acted as a liaison for getting someone to contact me via telephone and with any dealership issues I had. He has, most certainly, been helpful thus far.
