Banks IDash gauge-- some Q's

Hi Steve from Banks! Thanks for the info, very helpful as usual. I'll be ordering the iDash promptly. Do you know if Richard Norman still works for you guys? He was my go-to, super cool dude.

AH64ID, thanks for the advice. I don't know what some of those things are yet, or why they're important, but I'll be checking it all out.

I installed a Banks iDash. I've found it helpful to monitor some live performance data. It's plug-and-play. And I mostly agree with H3s comments above however I do like to monitor Regen info and a few other things on longer trips. Time will tell if I keep the thing installed. I don't plan on tuning the truck in the future.
@SpeyRam Curious. I just purchased the idash for my 2024 3500 HO 6.7. Do you know by chance of a location of way of finding out an explanation of the results of the various PIDs? For example: I thought I would want to Monitor the PMF M -assuming it is the Particulate Matter Filter Monitor. But my display show NO. Any advice on finding out what PID actually are and do? Thank you

Steve with Banks here's an example list for the 2024 2500 6.7L. View the full list here >>>> https://docs.bankspower.com/bids/files/PID_2024_Ram_2500_Big_Horn_/_Lone_Star_Dies_V_340_E.html

I think the iDash's are cool for sure. But I decided to try an Edge mostly because my truck didn't have aux switches. I can control my lights with the Edge.

I had a CTS3 but it was glitchy and would freeze quite often. And Edge's customer service was horrible when I tried to get some help with it. The Banks iDash is a nice piece of kit. Highly configurable, good build quality & not super expensive.

Steve thank you for the list. Is there a location that explains the PID and what a good value is. For example EGT 1, EGT 2, EGT 3, EGT 4, EGT 5.. I believe they are before Turbo to what is heading out. Which ones should be Monitore and what would be a warning sign. I have PMF M on and it show NO. So not sure what I am looking at an what it should say. Thank you for the reply and the list

Makes perfect sense. I've had the opposite experience. Gave the Banks to my son for his Tacoma, and he loves it.

I’ve have great luck with Edge customer service, though their engineers have been a little slow to fix a known issue. The CTS3 has its quirks, but personally it looks so much better and more functional than the iDash.

All 5 EGT’s are post turbo. I watch EGT1 because it’s in the downpipe and is the best indication of how hard the engine is working. It rarely goes above 1000°F. The engine won’t hurt itself, so what it runs is what it should run (for stock tuning). I also watch EGT3, which is DPF outlet and will tell you if any passive or active regen is occurring.

DPF DIS and TIM are pointless to monitor as they have been proven to be in accurate on these trucks.

With my CTS3 I don’t monitor regen status because the CTS3 has a green LED that turns on during regen. I also find DPF regen % to be a much better PID to monitor.

Thank you for the insight greatly appreciated

Just to make sure I understand, on my CTS3 I can turn off regent status and still get the green light? Because I would rather monitor DPF regen %

Yes, I get the LED and don’t monitor regen status

Nice, I'm gonna try this as well. That's good info. I tried to setup an alarm when regenerate takes place, but it was a permanent alarm lol.

Do any of you guys that run Banks iDash know if it will display transmission line pressure, Regn status, and torque convertor lockup?

It doesn't show trans line pressure. The torque slip is available on the idash but I've never got it to show anything.
