Trailer & Towing dashboard glitches

Just got my new travel trailer. I hook up and I select vehicle and then dashboard, then towing and trailers which shows me all the guages, gain, oil psi, etc.

First time I did this Only the brake controller gain was showing, and none of the other guages were active or working.

Then the brake controller guage stopped working also.

I did a hard reset to the screen and all guages started working except the brake controller.

I then did another hard reset and and now all guages are working except oil pressure!

After this I connected to wifi and it said scanning for updates and eventually stops but doesn't say if anything was updated.

Also when I unplug my trailer from the truck, in the upper right corner of the trailer and towing page it always says trailer 1 - connected. Even after restarting the vehicle.

During all of this if I go to the off road pages, those guages are always all working.

In addition to any suggestions, if anyone can confirm if your trailer and towing pages has all guages working even when no trailer is attached, and what is says when you do disconnect.

I'm having similar issues with mine. The trailer light test function works intermittently as well as the gauges in the tow page. I'm going to try to get my truck in to the dealer in the next week or two for the recall and I'm going to ask about it then. I'll post the outcome here.

I'm also having this same issue. I would bring up the gauge page as I was driving around, from time to time, and each time I did this, the gauge screen worked fine. The Sunday before Labor Day weekend, the trailer test, was my first towing with this truck, the trailer light test worked fine. Also the gauges screen was displaying everything. Then on labor day it self, was heading home and the trailer light test saw that I was clicking it, just like any tablet or smart phone app when you click it, it would flash but it would not start the test. I then checked the gauge screen and the gauges came up but no readings. I looked at by instrument gauge and the gauges are working there (all digital).

That sounds exactly like what mine is doing. I saw in another thread that some are having success with doing a factory reset of the stereo, but I haven't heard if that is a lasting fix. I don't want to have to reset my radio every time I need to tow my camper.

Nope, reset is not a lasting fix. It did correct my issues. For a few months but just picked up my trailer to get it ready for the weekend and gauges not working again and light check not working either.

Doesn't help when there is low confidence in the Ram service department to be able correctly determine the issue and apply a lasting fix. My last warrant experience, the service department was too worried about how they were going to get reimbursed by the manufacturer.

Hopefully I'll get the truck in soon to address everything on my list. Unfortunately, the list keeps growing. I have to plan on at least 2 visits. One visit for them to figure out the issue and order the parts, then another visit for the repairs.

Off road gauges work fine. Trailer tow gauges - all except the brake function gauge are not working. Blank screen and ring is at 0.

Was working now it doesn’t.

Gauges on main cluster work. Except for the oil temp - digital only. But that is the same for all vehicles. I sure hope they can fix it…

I took mine into the dealership and they had to do two factory resets on the system to fix it. The gauges now work as well as the trailer light check function. They asked me to wait two days before setting up my profile on the system again, I guess to let the system complete any updates. So, a few days after picking up, I had to go in and set my radio presets and all of my other personal settings again. That was kind of frustrating, but everything works now.

Whats funny is mine would never show the exhaust brake, but voltage, on the second page. Now it shows voltage on the first screen and exhaust brake on second page.

I find it odd that:
-When you select a "theme" it doesn't show up on the centre stack. Fonts are different between digital instrument panel and centre stack.
-The scales for all of the gauges are different. Off Road and Towing are different, and they are both different from the scales on the digital instrument panel.

- Its not possible to choose what gauges you want to show or rearrange the set ones.

Designed by engineers that don’t use a vehicle or they we’re all kept separate from each other u til the end, lol

Update- it’s measuring in KPa for oil pressure on 12” screen but psi on center screen. (Psi is what I selected in settings )

Both show 32 as pressure measurement. But only one is right.

And now my headlight indicators don’t work on auto, lol. It’s one thing after another.

And it thinks I’m towing a trailer

Love the truck, but geez the software is terrible.

Mine worked great for about 5months after I did a factory reset. Now it's back to the gauges not working and the "light check" being intermittent. When the light check does work, it won't turn off until I put it in drive.

Crazy, mine just did this **** today, trucks 6 weeks old! Had to do hard reset, work again for now!

Little update on the Uconnect intermittent issues.

I finally got around to taking the truck into the service dept for the tow pages not working or half working and my wireless andriod auto disconnecting issues. The trailer pages is pretty consistent but the wireless connection issues is intermittent. Some days it'll stay connected the whole way to work (30-45min) and some days it'll disconnect every 5 mins.

After them having it for two days they ordered a new radio unit. My antenna was replaced about 6months ago due to the UConnect error, so I guess this is the next step.

Of course, since I've had it in the dealership my android auto has been operating better, go figure.

Now I wait for the new unit and hope it cures the issues and doesn't cause any new ones.
