2021 Ram 2500 6.7 Cummins
Noticed an increasingly suspicious sound of metal clinking together from the front of the engine when idling. Loosened the belt tension and manually spun the water pump and belt tensioner pulleys and did not hear or feel anything. Spun the fan and immediately heard the noise I always am hearing at idle. I felt up at the front of the fan at the center and could move some sort of cover. I cannot see what it actually is and felt no screws or bolts, but it is that piece making the noise. The fan spins freely. I've searched the internet for what this piece even looks like, searched numerous cooling fan replacement video on YouTube replacing the fan and hub, but no one shows this cover. Anyone have a clue how it is actually secured? Is there something maybe loose on the connection from the fan to the engine that will tighten this cover?
Thanks!
