The owner's manual instructs not to tow a trail during the first 500 miles, and don't exceed 50 MPH nor use full throttle during towing for the next 500 miles. But it is silent about hauling a load in the bed. Do the same rules apply for hauling heavy items? Common sense would say they would but, on the other hand, a heavy trailer puts a lot more load on the truck than a heavy load in the bed.

You must have a Hemi, according to my owners manual the Cummins does not have speed limitation from new, I was told by sales no tow or hauling for the first 500 miles for the axels gear to seat or some silly thing...

You are correct that I'm getting a Hemi. But under Towing Requirements from the 2024 manual (doesn't specify whether Hemi or Diesel):
● Do not tow a trailer at all during the first 500 miles
(805 km) the new vehicle is driven. The engine,
axle or other parts could be damaged.
● Then, during the first 500 miles (805 km) that
a trailer is towed, do not drive over 50 mph (80
km/h) and do not make starts at full throttle. This
helps the engine and other parts of the vehicle
wear in at the heavier loads.

My owners manual show the same as what you posted for the Hemi, there were no speed restriction for diesel...

From the section about towing, no differentiation between gas or diesel:
● Then, during the first 500 miles (805 km) that

It’s the same for both gas and diesel since the main break-in is for the differential, which doesn’t care what engine you have.
