Anyone else get this error on your PW? Shows up the screen every start. Dealer said they need my truck for a whole day to get it resolved. Seems excessive for a software update. Uconnect is a PITA on these trucks. Any tips for a fix without a dealer visit?

Happens to mine when I'm at my place that has no cell service.

It's said to sometimes (but not always) be caused by it not having an up to date certificate of some sort from ATT.

I don't care if mine ever works, so I ignore it and it eventually goes away.

Had that same error months ago, they had to replace the shark fin looking antenna on the roof.

It's more than just s software update/refresh. The dealer needs to hook it up to their computers. There is a weak/broken connection between the UConnect box and the shark fin antenna. On mine it is a (intermittent) broken connector on the UConnect box. They had to replace the box or radio head last December for a different issue, (they might have damaged the connector or cable then). I get the failure intermittently, but seems more frequent on rough roads.

The big delays come when the Dealers Service Department needs to work with the Stellantis "Engineers". Last year it was almost impossible to get the "Engineers" to work with my Dealer. Finally, I threatened to go to the District/Regional Service Manager, and a Lawyer. My truck was fixed it less than 7 days...

This is a warranty issue and I'll have a rental. I won't need the truck until mid-October.

This is not a new issue. It is a more known issue in Jeeps and Dodges. There is also at least one NHSTB/NTSB Bulletin out on this because it disables the "SOS" and the other button.

I agree that UConnect sucks...

I have it. So far they pulled my radio apart and cleaned all the connections. Went away for a bit but now it’s back. Dealer said they don’t want to throw parts at it until they know the root cause.

Yeah, they tried that with me too, until I asked my Service advisor are you sure? (To be honest I've been using him exclusively for 15-20 years). He went back and got one of the more experienced Techs to look at it. That's when they found the broken/damaged connector.

If your under warranty, then it's not on them, or you...

When I go back for the software update recall I’ll talk to them again.

I had the error, new antenna - worked for a short while, had the power recycle - worked for a day, quoted the lemon law and this was going to be 3 out 4 trips to the dealer without a fix, after a two day service they result was (they found) a loose connection- has worked for a new record of over 6 weeks. The connection was difficult to get to and it was difficult to get Larry, Curly, or Moe to fix.

I had my truck "repaired" about two weeks ago.
They replaced the wire harness and Module. All was good until two days ago, then the error came back. It cleared after 4-6 hours with the truck off. I'll wait a few days and see before I call the dealer back...

UPDATE:

I had the "UConnect Error" re-occur two days ago. Along with this the "Assist" and "SOS" buttons illuminated red. After shutting the truck down and letting it sit, no errors.

I called the Dealership up yesterday, and spent almost 40 minutes talking to the Service Manager. Being it was an intermittent issue, he acknowledged that it would be difficult and time consuming to track down an intermittent issue. He said they did everything they could do on my last visit. When I asked what about the cable that runs from the Telemetrics Module to the "shark fin" and the antenna itself, he said that wouldn't be the cause. He asked where I heard that, and I said I read it on this Forum, AND ws told that by his service advisors, and the previous Service Manager. He said he didn't understand how that could be. This was after he stated earlier that he didn't know if the harness went to the antenna or not. He went on to say that I should purchase a UConnect subscription and that "might" help resolve my issue. I said I am NOT buying a subscription to see "IF" it might work. I ws also told I Could go to another Dealer.

I said I wanted an appointment, and a loaner if it was going to take more than a day. He said he didn't have any vehicles, and that this was not a driveability issue. It didn't matter that I am still under warranty. Furthermore he said the next time I get this error, I should "stop by" to show them what is occurring and they will run a scan.

So, I guess I stuck with a POS UConnect system, crappy Service Manager, or Lemon that Stellantis can't or won't fix.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

I have had that shark fin replaced twice on my 22. It seems that both times that I got the WiFi hot spot package so kids could use it on long trips , the uconnect failure happened.
The only thing that we noticed is the hot spot was intermittent after a few hours on the road.
They had to drop the headliner , but it was warranty repair.

That's our next step. I brought the truck in earlier this week for the constant "UConnect Error". My Advisor and his techs ran diagnostics and will now replace the shark fin. The Assistant Manager asked if I wanted to discuss my case with the Service Manager/Director, I said no and explained why. After running the diagnostics, they ordered a new shark fin, so we'll see.

I'm still not impressed with RamCare, Chrysler Customer Assistance. It has been a game of unresolved phone tag, longer than told holds and no call backs.

Well, it's been about a week and the latest repair seems to have worked. It was a loose connection at the "shark fin". Good thing because apparently the dealership received the wrong part. I asked if they had documented the mistake, and wrote down the p/n from the existing part... (I shouldn't have asked...).

During my visit, I had also received a call from Chrysler Customer Service. This wound up being a good and productive call. I'm not Sure of everything that happened behind the scenes, but "stuff happened".

Time will tell if my faith is totally restored in this Brand...

Finally got around to fixing the Uconnect issue at my local dealer. I’ve also been having a water leak I thought might be from the cab lights. Well turns out the leak was from the shark fin which is also associated with the Uconnect error. Loose connection? Bad seal? Corrosion? Who knows but the dealer was great to work with and I made it in just under my warranty expiration. Hope the fix holds up.

I bought a 2024 dodge ram 2500 limited diesel and had vibration, dealer said they needed to rebuild rear axle on truck then the ucconnect was locking up so I got frustrated and traded it for a brand new 2025 Ram 2500 Rebel diesel and now I have the same messages. I called customer care to get a loaner truck and was on phone with someone from a foreign country and went in circles with them about not being able to leave my brand new truck and be in a rental car for days. Ram customer care put me on hold and disconnected the call. I have been a Ram customer for over 35yrs and the customer service is horrible along with the Ram product in my opinion and experience in the last 6mo. I have spent over 190k on two trucks and to be treated they do not need our business is sad!!! I guess I might have to think of changing brands after being loyal for over 35yrs to the brand. I hope you have better luck and experience. By the way the SOS and customer care call feature on truck does not work either.

Glad this thread popped back up I forgot about it. I brought my truck back in under warranty with them able to trace the code. The wiring harness that connects to the shark fin as well as the shark fin are bad. Both are being replaced. Apparently the harness is back ordered so just waiting on that to come in for them to replace it all. Hope this gives you all some hope.

My Uconnect error came back after the shark fin replacement. They ended up with a software reset( what they told me) that worked for a bit. I had to reprogram all my stereo presets which was a pain. All seemed to work for another few weeks until the error reappeared on startup but only once. I think RAM has a software bug they can’t seem to pinpoint. Happens between USB, CarPlay and Bluetooth connections. It’s totally random. I plan to ignore it since it’s intermittent
