Ok, one of the things i know least about on anything in life is electronics, wiring and so forth.

Both of my head light housings are broke. OEM replacements appear to be 800$ each. so, i may as well look at going aftermarket. they are at the point where they are not putting out great light in the mornings, so they need to be replaced asap.

I'm assuming, they are the halogen-based lights so I'm looking to either upgrade to LED if it's not too much of a chore or stick to after-market halogens.

what have you guys had good experiences with that won't break the bank. im fine with 800-1k in cost, i guess.

Used ebay OEM would be about the only thing you can get for that price range maybe the OEM LED reflectors but then you need alfaOBD to change the programming a bit any aftermarket housings seem to start at 1500 for a set

yea, i did find these. but i imagine they may not be great.

i dont know though.

The Retrofit Source . Check these out. The OEM Reflector LED's are about 1200.00 from BAM Auto Parts. These Morimotos are a good option

$899.03

i went ahead and ordered these. found a discount code and just went and head and got them. they earned points showing it on a twin to my truck lol

send me 950 american, ill order then and ship them up to you ;) ill let you know what shipping costs.
Naa if anything ill put the OEM projectors in. The winding back road i live on it would be nice to have the lights that move with the steering lol

My wife’s atlas has it they are mesmerizing I catch myself following them :p
VW has had them for a long time they were one of the firsts i think. Its a great idea and they seem to be pretty fail proof

I also put on the Morimoto XB hybrids and have been very happy with them.
I caught them on a one-off sale and got them for an absolute steal. I couldn't resist.

Otherwise I would have probably gone with the Aplharex LUX.

how hard were they to install? time?
Luckily there are a lot of good videos on youtube. Its not super hard, but does involve a good bit of disassembly of the front end. I'd say I had about 4 hours into it including set up and clean up. For reference, I'm a decent shadetree mechanic, but not anywhere near a pro and mostly inexperienced with body work.

Pro tip: the hybrids don't come with turn signal bulbs installed. You either need to get new ones or steal the old ones out of the factory housings.
