I love my PW, and I've been putting up with it for the last three years, but I think it's about time to do something about it because it's getting worse.

First, I've tried different sets of tires, and there is no difference. However, my 37s are certainly a bit worse. I get a lot of rear axle hop when accelerating uphill, to the point that it feels like something is broken.

I'm thinking about upgrading the shocks and maybe the Anti-wrap shock. I'm interested in doing the Anti-wrap shock first to see if it makes any difference. (Bilstein 5100 Series 24-274395)

Has anyone tried upgrading the Aniti-wrap shock to a Bilstein 5100? It's crazy that we still need one in this day and age of suspension design.
Has anyone upgraded their shocks, and it helped? Thinking Bilstein 5100 or something Fox.

I went with Bilstein 5160 remote reservoir shocks all around. I put the Thueron rear track bar on to take care of the rear end waggle they get with the stock track bar. I also put their front track bar on. Suspensionlifts.com out of Canada had the shocks on sale for $1079 for all 4 a while back. These are tuned specifically for the power wagon but they do sell out at times during the year.

I have a 2019 Ram 2500 CTD, I installed the power hop kit on my truck and then installed the Carli tuned King 2.5 Resi's. This firmed up the rear too much, in my opinion. My truck has the off-road pkg, which included the yellow Bilstein shocks. With the stock shocks, my truck would power hop in loose sand when spinning in 2wd. I tested it with the Kings with and without the power hop kit, turns out there is little to no power hop with without the kit and the Kings. So I left the power hop kit off, as it rides a bit softer in the rear without it. FYI, that is why I have a like new power hop kit for sale here on the forum...

Oh wow, they do have some nice prices. I might try this route.

edit -- See they have the power wagon specific models -- awesome!

Question did you get a 5160 for the power hop shock or just the four normal shocks?

If you got one for the power hop shock what is the part number?

When I added sumo springs to the rear of my truck for towing/squat purposes, it eliminated the rear end hop problem completely. Seemingly unrelated but I haven’t had that issue in years now since the sumos

hmm. i guess they dampen things enough to essentially eliminate the hop. might be worth trying either those or the thuren boogie bumps before committing to the thuren 4-link upgrade.
I imagine the thuren boogie bumps are a bit softer than the sumo springs and not as long though, so maybe less likely to eliminate the axle hop.

Mine is a hair away from riding on the sumos. prolly all the crap I keep in my truck.

2023 Diesel Bighorn SO, installed the anti wheel hop kit (Geno's part no. GG-PHOPKIT) and yes it has the upgraded Bilstein shock. Very pleased with it so far because for my truck it does eliminate the rear wheel hop as I also have a tuner installed for a little more power that was contributing to the wheel hop. Running 37x13.5/20.

I have not done the single shock for wheel hop. I have not noticed any wheel hop with my setup so it has not neem on my radar to do. If you do the 5160 shocks make sure you order the billet reservoir clamps, look much better than the hose clamps and plastic.

Same experience with my air springs my issue was backing up a wet asphalt grade empty at the inlaws never going forward even in sand.

This is a bit of an update: I installed the Bilstein 5100 Series 24-274395 in place of the factory Anti-wrap shock, and as I expected, there wasn't too much of a difference. It might be a tad better, but it doesn't really fix the issue. That Locktite they had on the bolt was sure strong, or they had it torqued on some tight!

I think I'm going to take it in because my wife, who rarely drives the truck, drove it last week and said that it is much, much worse.
