So I took my race radio out of the truck. But now I'm going back to help for the Baja 400 and need to put it back in for the one race.
So I'm looking for some place inside the cab where I can get a constant 12VDC for the radio. At least 15 Amps. Don't need anything permanent. Will have a I line fuse fir it.
So where should I start looking?
Thanks.

Why not the 12V port on the top of the dash just get a power adapter to wire on to the radio so you can just plug it in?

If your 12V port is set to ignition just move the fuse in 90/91 over so it is on at all times

You can get these at any auto parts store or hardware store for 2-3$

I'm not sure of the amperage at that port. And I've been having a hard time finding one of those.

Found that autozone carries one. Will check for it next time I'm in town.

Got one from auto zone along with 25 amp fuses to replace the 5 amp that's in it.
You like to live dangerously, I see! I'm sure a 25amp fuse will be fine if you keep the wire size right, but at first glance, it sounds like a bad idea. But... I'd totally do it myself!

FWIW these are pretty nice way to tap the outlet.
RED WOLF 12 Volt Power Adapter... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08V4XFP24?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

Pull the center console (easy, two screws in the top shelf, then pry it forward); Plug in the t-harness to the outlet; then I drilled a small hole in the top shelf thing to pass the wires thru.

The outlet should be hot with ignition only from the factory, but you can move the fuse to make it hot all the time.

I used this to add some USB plugs to the top shelf to go with my Bulletpoint mount.
