I6 turbo engines can be built for HD applications easy there is a reason Cummins is coming out with a 6.7L gas engine it has the low end snot needed to move some serious weightI know this is all new to us truck folks, but those of guys who were into imports know the potential of I6 turbo engines so Im intrigued to see how things play out. I don't see them working in an HD application but it'll be plenty for the 1500.
Until it explodes lolHow long do they expect a 1000 hp 3.0 to last?
I should have been more clear on what I said, small displacement I6s like the hurricane aren’t HD appropriate engines.I6 turbo engines can be built for HD applications easy there is a reason Cummins is coming out with a 6.7L gas engine it has the low end snot needed to move some serious weight
Agreed there is no replacement for displacement.I should have been more clear on what I said, small displacement I6s like the hurricane aren’t HD appropriate engines.
There is demand among business/contractor users for HD trucks with gas engines. As much as I love my 6.4 and so many of us like big n/a V8's, there is a definite market for turbo 6's, I think maybe Ford is the first to prove that out. As for the original subject, not sure a 1000 hp gas engine is going to be more than a novelty. Fun, but maybe too much fun!I6 turbo engines can be built for HD applications easy there is a reason Cummins is coming out with a 6.7L gas engine it has the low end snot needed to move some serious weight
And the nice thing about it is, a straight-six engine has perfect primary and secondary engine balance.there is a definite market for turbo 6's
