2019 3500...been having issue with hood taking on water...dealership says no one has ever had the issue...don't have issue with other truck hoods...

Just curious if this is a problem or if nobody is just really noticing the water - thinking it is just water on top of hood.

I have videos showing the leaking (guess I can't upload videos??) and dealership finally authorized replacing hood, badges, etc...
Original hood leaked out of the points on the back of the hood by the windshield...I mean water was pouring out!!

New hood and badges didn't fix my problem, now it just leaks out the badges and you can hear the water in the hood sloshing around.

Just curious if anyone else has noticed it??? If so, please take it to the dealership and get it documented.

Like I told my dealership, I don't mind it leaking during the spring, summer and fall, but when winter gets here and the salty slush from the
roads starts flying - I don't want to have to come to you a few years from now with my hood all rusted out!!

It’s a thing for some people.

I believe there's a TSB in the Problems/TSB forum here.

It should not be taking on water. If it is, the hood emblems are not sealed.

I did search to see if this was in a thread somewhere before I posted...sorry, for "beating a dead horse"!!

The corrosion would be the least of my worries as if the water frezes in the hood it has the potential of deforming the hood

Maybe having water would dampen the hood vibrations other folks have :p

Be worried... This is the hood on my 2021.. I washed it a few weeks back and when I opened the hood 9 days later water ran out of the back of the hood. It had sat in the garage the entire time..

I was walking around it today and see this.....
Water gets in behind the hood badge and puddles in the front corners..

Both sides are doing it but passenger side is worse.. I'm so mad about this..

That is what mine looked like, in several places around the front edge of my hood. Water gets in through the badges and my driveway has a slight slope, so the water would always sit at the front. I had it repaired and the whole hood was repainted under warranty (right before it expired).

Let me guess.. it's covered under the 36 month warranty.. mine expired 6 months ago

No, 5 years/unlimited mileage. I had around 56K miles on mine when i finally took it in. I am about to hit 70K now.
Good to know! Did they end up repairing it or replacing the hood?
Nevermind, I went back and read your post which I should have done first..

Maybe I should wait until next year then and have it repaired. I'd like to find a way to talk the body shop into taking the money Stellantis will pay to repair it and get a new hood. Maybe the new sport hood and I'll pay the difference. Doubt they will go for it though..

If they were going to replace mine, i would have looked into getting the new sport hood as well.
