Interesting find. We’ve always considered the frames to be essentially the same, and they mostly are, but there are more differences than I expected as well. I also assumed the hitches were the same and they very obviously are not.
Looks mostly for the rear suspension difference of links vs leafs. Cool find. There was a pubic posted one on the differences between the 16 and 22 that I was comparing before purchase, very interesting as well.

It appears the 2500 uses more high strength steel around the rear suspension, which I’d assume is due to the smaller focus of forces from the coil springs vs the leaf springs. Also, the 2500 hitch tube recesses partway into the frame, where the 3500 tube is lower down but with less drop. Not sure why they made those different like that.
