After almost 5 years - went from Cooper AT3 XLT in 285/65/20 to Toyo AT3 in the same size - Had a bad flat about 90 miles from home on Sunday, good ol' boy in a tow got it pumped up with 4 plugs (2 pocket knife blades in my tire, must have been a multi-tool/leatherman in the road) and I hauled ass home, once the tires cooled when I was home had a slow leak, so wasn't worth salvaging, and based on age, I was due.
Love everything about the Toyo's more, in every way basically - I do think the Coopers were 'wider' in the same size, based on Tire Rack specs and lining both tires up before Discount Tire mounted them - sidewall differences, lugs etc, it wasn't much, but I could see a difference.
I am debating going up to 295/65/20 AT3's, under Toyo's 500 mile trial program, which Discount Tire said I could absolutely do if I wanted a different size. However, 2 things holding me back are more radius arm rub (on Coopers, had a touch on left side radius arm only, I need to check these 285/65/20 Toyo's under full lock), and the fact that I am pushing it with gearing as I have a 2018 with the 3.42 gears, on a SRW 2500.
Will get pics up of new current 285/65/20 AT3's, they are on 19+ Night Edition wheels which I had powdercoated gloss black a few years back. Toyo's balanced great, most one wheel took was 1.75oz - one tire took .5oz to balance, the Coopers had long strips of weights in comparison.
