Tire Pressure Sensors

We have a 2020 Power Wagon that we changed the tires on in order to have tires we liked better. These new tires are rated for a tire pressure of 50 pounds. Evidently the factory settings in the tire sensors are for 65 pounds. We put new wheels on also, so we put in brand new Mopar tire sensors. They read correctly, BUT the dashboard info keeps throwing up an error of low tire pressure, because these tires are kept at 50 pounds. We took it to the dealer who told us that the Power Wagon tire pressure computer entry could not be changed, and that for the rest of the truck's life, it will now show that error on every start, and keep that stupid "exclamation" icon on the dash forever. Is this true? Is there no way to reprogram the computer to accept the correct pressure for a different type of tire? There are HUNDREDS of options for tires out there. I find it really hard to believe that this thing cannot be reprogrammed for this!

The truck’s body computer is programmed for the pressures listed on the door placard, and they will throw the low tire warning when the pressures drop more that 20% below those numbers. The dealer can’t change those threshold numbers because there just isn’t an option available to them in their dealer scan tool to do so, but you can do it yourself using software such as AlfaOBD or Jscan.

Do you still get the warning light on the dash? I have JScan and have used it to stop alerting me of the low pressure in the evic screen but my light still illuminates. I would love for this to go away.

I Just drive with it lit up...I dont care enough to buy something to get rid of that light. I set the pressure I want and check/ adjust it monthly

Yeah I get that but I already have the JScan and will cost me nothing if I can get it to shut the light off. I only run 40-45 psi in my tires so it stays lit up but no longer tells me in the evic they are low.

It's more than just the icon on the dash, though. Upon every start up, it will throw up the schematic with all the tires and their pressure, which means you have to push one of the arrow buttons to go back to the speedometer. Every. Single. Start up.

I used the AEV Procal to reset those limits.
Thank you!

What did you set the pressure at in JScan?
I have it set at 40psi. It reads the correct psi setting I have it set at and I no longer get the evic message of low pressure but just the light. Do you no longer have the light come on?

As people have mentioned, you could go the route of AlfaODB or you can get an AEV Pro-Cal Snap.

I just used the Pro-Cal Snap about a couple hours before me posting this. It's super easy to install and use. I changed my tire pressure warning from the stock 60/65 to 40 psi. I also calibrated my speedometer with the help of a GPS speedometer app and driving around after each time I programmed it. Highly recommend it.

I’ll try that and see if it will clear the light. Thanks
Still no dice. I tried clearing the code and resetting the pressures. It will allow me to go as far as deleting the entire tire pressure page out of the evic but cannot shut the light off for whatever reason. I’ll keep messing with it but so far nothing has worked

I have the AEV Procal and have my tire pressure set down to 35 psi and also adjusted my speedometer. I did run in to an issue when trying to set it up because I have the digital display. After speaking with AEV they said that the Procal for Ram trucks doesn’t work with the digital display but the jeep one does so they swapped it out for me. Now everything works fine.

I’m using JScan. New threshold is set but still getting low tire. 2018 ram 2500 bighorn
