Rear Parking Sensors & Towing

When I got my truck if I towed it turned off the rear parking sensors once the 7 wire plug was attached and when unplugged it seemed to reactivate them.

Lately I have noticed the still off after disconnecting the 7 wire trailer plug.

The owner's manual say it will disable it when a trailer is connected with brakes. When I coonect my trailer it says a trailer with brakes is connected.

"The ParkSense system will automatically disable when the system detects that a trailer with trailer brakes has been connected to the Integrated Trailer Brake Module. The instrument cluster display will show an “Off” message over the arcs if the ParkSense system is off, or a “Trailer” message if the system is on, for as long as the vehicle is in REVERSE."

Am I just remembering wrong or is my truck doing something weird by leaving the resr sensors off after the trailer plug is disconnected?

Neither of my 4.5 gens have turned the sensors back on after I disconnected the trailer.

Sort of related - when I drop my trailer at storage and unplug the trailer, the truck continues to have the trailer disconnected light on - is there a way to acknowledge the trailer is disconnected short of turning the truck off and back on? And would that reset the backing sensors?

Gotta shut it off.

Thanks folks, I figured that was the answer...just annoying mostly.
