Satellite Hardware Error

Temperature makes no difference with mine. I got in the truck this morning, 70° and it was dead. Got in at 1600 hours, it was a blazing 108° outside and it worked. Who knows.

Mine is still ok, no issues after full factory reset

The only thing I did was log into the Xm account

Before I had not logged into the account, had let the system activate by the hardware id. I think since I logged in it has not sent the “app market” update which I believe is the cause of the issue.

What a pain. Now if they undo this item and the very stupid 3 honk thing I would be happy

WRT to that app and marketing stuff, someone on 5thgenrams just posted:

May have found a partial solution to the marketing app shortcut appearing in the top bar.

Go into Apps/System/Notices and delete all notices that appear.

I had 2 Sirius XM notices that I deleted. That was 3 days ago and I have not had the link appear since. Before the link would reappear every day.

had this happen several times.. i did a factory reset of all the infotainment/settings (not just the radio) and no issues for 5 days since

i noticed the APP market icon show up, that i had not seen before, maybe it was a XM upgrade/feature that triggered it?

I noticed the same icon when this all started.

I was in the minority, because everything worked great on my 12" uConnect until this occurred. I never had update issues, or lost presets, or even blank screens. Oh well.

Add me to the list of annoyed...'22 2500 Laramie with the new app icon and daily SATELLITE HARDWARE ERROR screen. I have an appointment next week at the service center, but I am not hopeful. The advisor said there are 3 others with appointment for this issue next week and they are planning to install new antennas to see if that helps. Apparently, he has not discussed it with the chain of command engineers or techs at RAM because he admitted his shop is just "guessing" about the fix. "We think it is something wrong with the satellite". Yeah, right

I'm not sure that I would want them messing around with my headliner to replace a part that's likely not the problem

I have had the new thing on my screen for a month or so, had the satellite issue twice in the last week with no album showing on screen, hard reset fixes it, not sure if it's a Ram or Sirius issue. I will try to find someone at work to ask, might have to brush up on my foreign language skills to ask.

@RamCares I have instructed all my locations that we will no longer be ordering Dodge/Ram vehicles and to cancel all orders pending until further notice. Our drivers spend a lot of hours a day in these vehicles and something so simple can be so annoying. I also personally have 3 of the effected vehicles and experince the Hardware Error so I know what my staff are experiencing. The app icon that showed up at the same time this issue started did not need to be put on the home screen. If I wanted anything, I could go to the apps page myself. This is not the first issue that is driving my decision. The 3 honks when the vehicle is running, and the fob leaves is so annoying and has been an issue for couple years with no programing update correction from Ram. I'm at my wits end with my dealership as I have left multiple messages for the owner to call me and heard nothing, crickets. I called the Ram 800 hotline and also crickets! I have loved my Rams over the years, but not the service!

My radio has fixed itself. I don't know why or what but the last 3 days it has not needed to be restarted. I still have the stupid app button they added at the top, and while I despise the fact this was added for no apparent beneficial reason to ME, at least I no longer need to reset the radio daily.

Same here!

I thought it was just a fluke, but it could be that something was "fixed". I have also noticed that I did not restart since the last 3-4 days.

In regards to the "Satellite Hardware Error", I have been suffering the same problem that started about a month ago. I have that marketing icon that appeared. I do a soft reset that works temporarily. My truck is currently at Clovis Ca. Dodge / Ram for other issues. I have spoken to my service advisor who was unaware of the obviously pervasive problem with the sat error. Speaking to Ram cares and customer care is pretty useless. Those people are really no help. I'll see if my dealership's service dept has anymore answers for me when I pick up my truck next week, because of course they have to "order" a new compressor for my air suspension system which is just over two years old.

I hope that my truck does not become an undependable problem. A friend of mine got rid of his 2019 Ram 3500 Cummins and went to a GMC Denali Ultimate Diesel because of too many electrical issues.

Ram doesn't have a clue about what's going on with the Sirius issue. What a sh*t show

I picked up my 2500 from the dealer this afternoon. Regarding the "Sat Hardware error" the service dept said that the USB with my music that was in the port for the past year and a half at least, was causing my "radio to believe there is an update" (the problem began only a month or so ago). They removed the USB from the port and cleared the codes. They said all appeared to be working normally. I drove it around quite a bit with the sat radio on, and my USB back in the port. Everything appeared to work normally, so time will tell. Maybe whatever update or push that put the game marketing app on my Uconnect did not like the fact that there was a USB drive in the port at the time???

I have a USB in mine too, it's been fine since the update
