Satellite Hardware Error

it's fine for 24hrs. But the error comes back. Yesterday SXM was all confused on my truck. Every station had <Start Over> on the song without album art. hit that Start over button and the art would appear, but it would begin an hour or 2 in the past of the programming list (think Top 40 list and you were on #15, but hit Start Over and you go back to #38 in the program). It only seems to be SXM related and an annoyance against a paid feature. I am confused on the $$$ need for the APP update, and believe the checks and balances in the new coding config for being able to sign up and use SXM did bad things to the existing customers with accounts. I am seeing actions that try to ping the hardware (sat receiver) and give back the Satellite Hardware Error message. Reset the radio and the normal software "check" subroutine engages and you get back to expected results albeit a partially working example.

@Jimmy07 , not that we can fix it, but how many different types of "pushes" are there to this head unit?

  1. Firmware
  2. SXM
  3. NAV ?
  4. Telematics ?
That my spitball list....please correct it with your vast knowledge.

Why is the “new” apps window have games in it? Why is it not the Apps area of our infotainment systems? Why is a “system hardware error” displayed? Why does it go offline before 10am EDST? Are they related? Is this Siriusxm update? Or is this Stellantis? We pay a lot of money over time for these monthly subscriptions. And too not have XM when the majority of us are in our trucks is unacceptable. Are we going to be reimbursed for the problem that was sent too Us? This was an OTA push we did not ask for. And while it maybe required for system operability…it sucks and does not work correctly. Ram HD owners are scattered around, with the same error, so this is on You. Attached it the game and shopping pages. My passenger can not adjust my destination in Nav while the truck is moving over 5mph, why do we have this? Because Sudoku or scanning the QR code for a XM membership is fun at 70mph or 120kph?

p.s. As I think about this, it is both Sirius and Stellantis problem. Sirius software through Stellantis hardware. So fix it! Because going to a service center and getting the run around is BS!

i just saw this thread Same thing happening to my 2022 Longhorn. Have to soft reset it daily if not twice a day sometimes. And as mentioned by others previously it does drop out more than it did
 
Another issue I found this past weekend is my FM Presets are no longer saved and the FM Presets now show XM channels instead.
 
I'm seeing all over other forums 22 and newer 2500/3500 having same issue. I get that stupid icon in upper right for games, geocache, app store. I have to do a soft reset every other day. No issues prior to this. It must be an OTA update they didn't test. Anyone.get anything from Ramcares?

Crickets from Ram Cares. I did the factory reset and it’s been working as it should for three days. Had to redo all my settings and favorites when I did though. Crossing my fingers it continues.
 
I had thought about a full on reset, but the time to rebuild was not in my schedule.

FYI, my backup camera issue is due to a possible loose connection at the camera in the tailgate handle. I hope my cleaning and reseat will keep it working through the numerous tailgate slams that occur weekly.
 
@RamCares Chris, hey I see you were on today, or at last seen about 4pm. Can we get some info on this issue. I climb in my truck @5:30am, and I have sat radio. Leave the office to go to lunch, and the error shows up.
 
Same issue on my 2022 2500 limited. PITA! Started about 2 weeks ago.

Hi Chris-
After the update, I now have a 2022 limited with this annoying "app market" button that cannot be removed followed up with these batches of hardware errors that freeze XM.
I think Randy took the thoughts right out of my head.. we don't need more marketing BS that we have to look at everyday. We just want a dependable truck and radio.

Me too on my 22, my 24 does not have the issue.

I can hold the power button down to do a soft reset and when it comes back up, it brings Sirius back online but defaults the channel to 1. All the channels come back. Never had this issue until about a week ago. Pain in the rear having to reset the radio each time I get into the truck. Anyone ever get this error or have a fix for it?

Got me yesterday....
 
No fix. Ram blames Sirius, but it started when I got that stupid app in the upper right corner.
 
Mine is still working after doing a full reset a week ago. From what others have said, it probably won’t last but I’m remaining hopeful. I’ll let y’all know if/when it nukes again.

Edit: Just got back into the truck and the error is back. Spoke too soon. Ugh!!

I have made an interesting observation based on my truck. If I am parked over night or in the shade (left the house at 12:30 this afternoon) my sat radio works until I shut off my truck. Today had sat radio when I started my truck at 12:30 to run around, upon starting the truck to leave first stop, sat hardware error. Has anyone else notice a difference between cool temps and warm/hot temps?
