They all have their warts, it’s just a matter of picking the one you like enough to suffer through its hiccups.now now. as i see what you did there, i also laugh in shame. do i dare go to a 2024 ram? upgrade to a 3500 8ft bed big horn and roll the dice. i was looking at the 3500 duramax too, but if i recallt hey have injector issues.
yea, oddly enough ive lucked out and the only issue out of 6 rams was transmissions. chevy has the allison, ford has the power with the HO. ram just works well. sad part is i baby the ram. i dont launch it, im a 45 year old grandpa driving it like its sunday 7 days a week lol. uhg. They all have their warts, it’s just a matter of picking the one you like enough to suffer through its hiccups.
Im sure a complete built trans is cheaper than buying a new truck but thats just my opinion. I work my 68RFE hard and have never had one issue. Besides the ford is a downgrade you will get a CP4 a 10speed trans that jumps around shifting so much you will quickly hate it a lesser interior, and aluminum body that leaves a lot to be desiredmight take this time to upgrade to a HO F350 lol. i have long distance trips and now im concerned with the longevity of the 68rfe
Yuk! ~Six months ago I had the dreaded 'Gear 3 Incorrect Ratio' on my 2022 Bighorn 6.4 at 26,000 miles. Metal shavings were found in the pan. Two months later I drove away from the dealer with a new tranny, cooler, and lines.twice so far. always leaving the house. was looking and the trans is covered to 100k i think? i really dont want to fight the dealer on this. kinda tired of ram transmissions at this point lol.

Why not go with a Ram 3500HO if you are after something new

At first the techs thought the valve body assembly was bad. Then they found the metal shavings. The valve body replacement is a pretty simple bolt in I understand, but that became moot when the whole tranny was janked out.right, i had the trans serviced a few months ago and it looked brand new inside with clean fluid. i have the estimate from the shop to rebuild it with all new everything, more clutch's and billet outputs and what not for 5500$. may do it. i have a trip in 3 weeks ang im in a scramble as i need a tow ri
stopped in at the dealer last night and they pretty much wernt to helpful. but i drop the truck off for the trans tommorow after work. i hit 99630 this morning, so i need to park it before i hit 100k lol.
You need to drive that model A and give yourself a little more time for travel lol. Good luck with the truck….and the car.
