Has anyone leveled a 3500 with the auto level rear air suspension?

Hey guys
I have a 4” bds kit on a 2024 3500 mega
Anyone know how to remove some air in the bags via JScan ? Or the values to try
My bags are way over filled and the dealer is being less than helpful
Or can anyone check their values for me and I can compare ?
Thanks in advance
I don't think there is any software that can do what you want.
Attached are my notes from the forums that may help you.

Thanks John I see some options in JScan and alphaobd just not sure what to change the values to and not sure how to read what they’re at now in case I screw it up
Thanks for the links I’ve seen those comments as well

Did they install spacers under your bags or just blocks to the springs? Both are required to maintain the stock setting on for the bags. If they only used blocks this would be your problem.

I have blocks and spacers
I had a service rear air suspension light took it to dealer they recalibrated the system and it’s way over filled and they say they can’t remove any
My truck was 2” low in the rear now it’s 1” high
My shocks are about to blow apart
Might just go into JScan and deflate the bags

Not saying anything was installed incorrectly, but I would check that the blocks are the same size as the spacers, they need to be. Adjustment can be made to your bags by increasing or decreasing the length of the rod that’s attached to the sensor. Nobody should have changed the length of the rod, but that might have been done when the lift was installed, possibly causing your problem. I’m no expert, but it’s an option to investigate!

How long after the lift install did you get the service air suspension message?

My truck is a 3500 SRW with the auto-level system. I went with a Carlie 2.5 level kit and a 2” block in the rear. I didn’t want the nose high like I see with most of these trucks that do the level kit on an auto-level system. In my opinion it looks odd. The rear measures .5 of an inch higher in the rear, measured from the center of the rim to the top of the wheel arch. I’m running 37/12.5 R18 tires with a +18 offset Fuel whee. There was a slight rub on the plastic fender liner which I fixed by drilling a hole in the bottom of the liner and using a zip tie to pull it back. Can’t see the zip tie and you don’t have to cut up your truck. Now there is no rubbing at all even when going off road. When I had 35” tires on this truck they cleared no problem (no zip ties). If you run the 35x12.5 tires on stock wheels they will rub on your radius arms and sway bar. They could clear if you went with a narrower 35.

BigRig, what blocks did you use, BDS shows a 3 pin block, PMF shows 1 center pin, RC shows a 1 pin block. Wonder if a 3500 ho srw and dually have the same blocks

I actually have the OEM air in the rear of my truck. @williamfr Rear lift is 2" blocks, 2" bag spacers, and some 5100 shocks. Front is Carli LVL springs, Bilstein 5160's and a Thuren track bar.

Truck is on 35x10.50r17's like @AH64ID mentioned.

You can see the airbag and spacer in this pic.

@Matty Rich - The Ram 3500 air assist airbags do not add comfort to the ride. They are used as supplemental support to keep the truck level when loaded down. The spacers and links that you are reading about above have been added to help lift the trucks for clearing larger tires. Now... if you add a 1-2" leaf spring spacer, with a respectively sized airbag spacer, you can adjust it to keep most of the air out of the airbags during normal everyday (non-hauling) driving, which will give you a better ride. This combined with adjusting the tire pressures will give the best ride without serious modifications.

If this isn't enough of a change, the next step would be to change out the spring pack with a Carli progressive or similar setup... this is spendy, and reduces the overall load rating of the truck a little.
Have you used those leafs or have any knowledge of how much of a better ride unloaded it is ?

That picture was at the dealer before I picked it up. The tires were 35/12.5r18, I’ve since changed the tires out to a 37/12.5r18 which I think look way better. The rims have a +18 offset and sit almost flush with the flares. The 37” tires did rub slightly in the inner plastic liner which was rectified by drilling a small hole and using a zip tie to pull it back. Didn’t want to cut up the truck. what brand tires did you end up going with and how do you like them?

Nitto Ridge Grappler. Of all the tires I have used over the years these have been my favorite.
Thanks!! I was looking at getting those when I was in SoCal but now that I’m in Oregon I’m not sure because I’ve read a lot of poor reviews for its rain traction. Have you noticed any traction issues in the rain?

I live further up north where the rain never seems to stop. They are great in the rain, but I wouldn’t say excellent. I’ve never had an issue with hydroplaning or loosing traction unless you’re putting your foot into it. The best tire I had for rain was the Toyo AT3 but they wore too quickly. Had them on my older ram, then switched to the Ridge Grappler. With that older ram 5.9 and the Rodge Grappler I drove from Canada to Huntley Illinois to pick up a travel trailer. It was in January and I experienced every bit of weather you could imagine. From heavy rain, snow and even freezing rain. Those tires were amazing and I was sold, that why when I got this new Ram I didn’t consider anything else.
