When is the facelift coming out?

That would work, there are a few other things I would like to look at also, need to get my computer updated at work and have a look.

Not that Ram is actually monitoring these threads, but I'll say that I previously bought a GMC because I hated that rotary shifter so much and wasn't aware that the Cummins trucks still used a column shifter. I don't even love the 19+ shifter as much as the pre 19 trucks, but I like it better than any rotary shifter. I'd personally be strongly opposed to Ram if they made a rotary shifter the only option.

I actually personally have no issue with electric vehicles, I just don't think they are ready for prime time, and being a tech guy who was an early adopter in my youth (had the first touch screen blackberry, the first iphone, palm pilots, a lot of early IOT stuff for home automation, etc.) I'll tell you that my days of being an early adopter are over. After working in tech for as long as I have, and being so involved in "early" home computing since my father also works in tech, I'll say that there comes a point where I am very weary of the quality of products.

Especially on the software side. As software and computing has become more prolific, it's been both amazing to see the innovation and heartbreaking to see the quality of code and number of bugs associated with modern software. I also just have personal preferences like everyone else.

I realize this is just poking fun, but I will say that I'm excited about electric vehicles in 15 years or so. It would be amazing to have a daily driver that is both lightning fast and doesn't require that I pay for fuel (assuming I'm willing to install solar for "free" charging).

Also, the cyber truck is disgusting. Maybe one day it will grow on me, but as of now, I just don't see it.

The idea of no fuel is great but unfortunately there is no such thing as a free lunch. Power companies, gov will find a way to create a profit stream from this and unfortunately they could shut you down real easily unlike buying gas/diesel.

Just look what CA is doing - they were a huge early adopter of solar, now they are on 3.0 billing so they charge more for the power, way less for generation credits since this started costing them money. Tieing the system into their grid almost for new customers doesn’t pay off- you’re better off doing it without permits and having it charge batteries and running it yourself. I imagine this will get worse with electric cars. Now they are charging huge fees for monthly bills based on income real soon

So I’ll keep my diesel and gas, I love oil company dividends too :)

My man said CA as if anything done in CA makes sense.

They're proposing a $0.30 per mile tax on driving. For all vehicles. They're also considering mandating that every house have solar installed, at the home owners expense, and then a monthly grid connection fee.

Never say CA because the retardation runs strong over there.

I don't want to veer us off into politics territory, but the $0.30 thing isn't quite correct. It's a voluntary test program for a potential replacement for gas taxes, that would share some of the tax burden onto electric car drivers, and it would be far less than 30c no matter how fuel inefficient your vehicle is.

As much as I’m anti ca politics, I highly doubt it will be 30 cents a mile. Prob closer to 3 cents.

In a perfect world, continue the gas tax, and all electric registered vehicles should pay a few cent fee but some this logical would be too hard for ca politics.

With the new 1500 and the drop of the classic line i would expect to see the new design for next year not this year, but the delay in the 2025 orders/ release has me curious as to why
They have 25’s out road testing with an independent firm. Wondering if maybe they’ve encountered some teething issues….

I would imagine right now they are re-tooling some of the equipment and making dies to fit everything together such as tranny, headlights, hood & grill and any other changes.

5 years in the making and a few months from when 25 orders open up, I would sure hope they have the tuning dialed in already…
They haven't had trucks out in the real world until recently. Can do all the track testing you want, but that doesn't equate to real world use. Even after they are released I'd expect a few software updates to come quickly. New platforms are never good on first model years until a few updates have been applied.

Software 101

The ZF Powerline 8 has been on the road and under a ram truck since 2018. No doubt there will be revisions. But I’d say it’s a safe bet they have them dialed in for the most part by this point. They really can’t afford anymore transmission woes.
