Yearlier this year I got a recall for my 2022 ram 3500 HO about a recall that had if your truck was built before May or June of 2022, which my truck was built on March 6, 2022. I accidentally lost this paper about this recall, and the dealship has no regulations of any type of this recalls about this. I kind of remember it's about the dpf system.

Its likely the y43 recall - the dealer should be able to run your VIN and tell you if you have any outstanding recalls to be completed.

My father needs to get the trans dipstick done and heater grid. Definitely don’t want Y43 completed, wonder if the dealer will allow us to refuse that one. Prob not.

Adding sensors to an emissions system may not be trouble now but down the road it’s an additional Sensor to fail or create problems. Anything that the California Air Resource boards wants done is a huge red flag in my book.

This is the same group of asshats who tried to fine me thousands of dollars for demoing my own garage at a rental property when I had a clear asbestos report. The owner isn’t allowed to demo their own building at an apartment. So I have a soft spot for them…

If you're in CA aren't you going to be refused tag renewal with an open emissions recall?

Also, if the truck is ever serviced and gets a PCM flash, the lack of that sensor is going to be trouble.

Truck isn’t registered in CA. I guess you are onto something about the reflash if it needs one down the line

Y43 isn’t a bad recall. It monitors DPF health and will let you know sooner if the DPF has failed, which is money ahead under warranty.

The sensor has not been an issue for the trucks that had it from the factory, or the trucks that have had Y43.

I remember seeing a recall for some 22’s with a certain build date about an ECM issue. This was a FHSA recall because of the engine dying and wouldn’t restart. I don’t remember what the number for it was or where I saw it. But with a federal agency involved, it wouldn’t surprise me if those particular build dates may not have had the updated encryption in them to prevent deleting.

If it applied to your vehicle it will be listed there.

The only ECM related recall that I can think of for MY22 is the misaligned capacitor that can cause a power interruption within the ECM.

That was it.
I didn’t buy my truck until 5/23 and the build date was 6/22. Did not receive a letter about the recall so I guess the dealer installed the ECM while it was sitting on the lot or it wasn’t included in the recall. The sticker on the ECM has 6/22 on it.

Hi there! If anyone would like for us to review their recall history, please send us a private message with the 17-character VIN associated with your vehicle. We'd be more than happy to provide any information possible. Thank you, and we hope to hear from each of you.
