Left turn signal activates high beams. 2023 2500

Did you have the recall done? I did and all they did was a software update. It did fix it. Wondering if it was some kind of sensitivity adjustment.
Yes, when I was in the process of buying it (Dec 2023) the dealership called and told me there was a stop sale on all 2023 RAM 2500 because of the turn signal high beam issue. At the time there wasn't a fix and roughly 3 days later the they called saying the issue was resolved with a software update.

I called the dealership yesterday and made an appt to bring it in and they said "that's odd, we can see the recall update was complete to resolve that issue". So, I bring it in next Thursday the 30th. I'll update this thread once I get the truck back.

Just got a call from my dealership, part came in! So, I'll be getting the part installed June 3rd since, I have a very busy schedule. I'll update post, once I get it completed. Just wondering how long the install will take?

They did the software update on my truck first and it did not work. I had to bring it back for them to replace the switch.

If anyone is still having this issue, if you're able to take it straight to the dealership (any RAM dealership) when it's happening I'd recommend it so it can be documented. They tried to pull the "Well it wasn't doing it when we had it" crap with me. only I had to remind then it was observed and documented previously.

I did see someone say the issue resolved itself for them, I will assure you it did not. Give it time and it'll come back.

This whole situation was frustrating for me and took 3 trips to the dealer to get it resolved. I think what helped is I drove straight to them when the issue showed up again so it could be documented. I know this isn't possible for everyone though,

My switch was replaced back in February and fingers crossed I haven't had an issue with it since. I'm pretty sure the "Software" update is their attempt to save some money and inconvenience the good people who spent a lot of hard-earned money on these trucks. RAM should be replacing the switch, no questions asked.

Well, I dropped the truck off last night and just received the call from the dealership. I need a new steering wheel control switch and should take about 4 days for the part to come in.

I agree with @jerad, if this issue was happening and then went away by itself it will happen again. I made my appt with the dealership last week. Between the time I made the appointment and brought the truck in, the issue "fixed itself" 2 separate times. Luckly for me when I dropped the truck off last night the issue was occurring.

Just checking in. My appointment with my dealership for part replacement was scheduled for 8:30. I arrived 20mins early. I'll check back in once I get "Greyhound" back!

Update, completed in 1hr. I, attached the picture of document of my install.

Glad they got ya fixed up quickly. It's nice to not have to worry about that stupid high beam in the back of your mind making left turns at night.

Was the issue happening when you dropped it off? I don't want to go into dealer with the it not triggering the high beams and the dealer just sends me home .. I want to make sure no matter what its getting the part replaced ...

It’s a recall, as long as your truck has been recalled they will fix it. Mine was just a software update. Zero parts replaced. Problem solved.

Yes, When I went in for my 2nd "service", the (issue was happening) and service department (Seen it) with (their own eyes). So, yes, as I said in all early post, my dealership flashed it first. Then, during my 2nd service, It was preforming the issue so, "parts where replaced as seen by image from my dealership posted in my last post before this reply.

The software update doens't always fix it. I had the software update done in Dec 2023 and the issue started again. Dealership is now ordering a new steering wheel control switch to install.

If you're under the recall they'll do the software flash/update first regardless.

Yeah, it seems they'll do the software update and hope for the best.

I had mine diagnosed before the recall and the dealer stated replacement part was needed. Between the time of the part incoming and getting my truck in for the service the recall came out. I was then told they could not do the part replacement until they tried the software update. The original diagnostic was correct but required 3 visits to fix it.

Hopefully your software update works permanently. For a lot of us, it does not, and requires hardware replacement.

I'm now getting this at start up and shut down. I've not had any problem and am reluctant to let any dealership close to my truck. I had a perfectly good F-350 DRW that the dealers in my area destroyed.
Anyway, I'm not sure what I should do. Will this eventually stop if I ignore it long enough, or do I now need a dealer to block it? If I do go in for this, must I remove my security bypass cable?
Thanks for your thoughts.

I am getting that message also starting today ..the issue has also started occurring on my truck again .. Guess I'll make an appointment.
