Hard Shifts

Not saying nothing is wrong with your tranny
but when I use the exhaust brake, I definitely get stiffer downshifts. Just for comparison sake.

I will say if its in Tow/Haul and EB is on, it doesn't downshift anywhere near as clunky as it does with just the EB on. I expect firm shifting, this feels like something is wrong.

Will report back after re-learn.

3rd to 2nd and 2nd to 1st.

2nd to 1st being the worst.

Pan needs to be pulled , checked for debris and clutches air checked. If all good than a valve body need to be replaced

Something sounds wrong. Whether it’s software or mechanical I’m not sure but, mothers cars have been 8 speed zf auto in ram 1500, dual clutch graziano, and a few other standard autos….
While the 2500 SO’s transmission is definitely not the smoothest of the bunch, it is by no means harsh or really even all that noticeable.
EB changes the downshifts but again, it’s not harsh or really anything to talk about. I think you should get it checked out.
