I’ve got nothing but great things to say about the shop and the owner. Add that Randy’s recommended them says a lot to me

I get it and its a common practice, they did nothing wrong per say but like i said i went to aluminum punches where i could to avoid the potential of these questions coming up from customers

It makes more sense i have not seen brass shims in a rear end but these days nothing surprises me lol

The look on my face probably was one of confusion and deep worry at first hahaha I have nightmares and flashbacks to draining oil and finding bearing material. This was not a fun reminder of those experiences haha

You mean the days when one could put sawdust in the differential to quiet the howling down? I drove a 65 Chev 3/4 ton that way for a couple years back in the late 80s. Some of those older differentials were almost bullet proof, but they could sure play some music when the gears were worn.

The good ol corporate 14 bolt days
