Hey all. Long time Lurker, first time poster.

Long story short, I found a used low mile 2019 mega cab laramie DRW near me that we are looking at. I went to the dealer today and they ended up giving me a very fair trade value on my truck so we may be taking this a little more seriously. The truck drove a lot nicer than I was expecting for a DRW. This (could) be my 4th diesel, but my first dually.

Some history that I was able to dig up:
-2 owner truck, 1st 2 months as a rental, then 10 months as a lease. I would imagine those two owners were one in the same and the paperwork/ownership was just a function of their business. The salesman couldnt tell me if it was an auction or trade-in, but I didnt prod that hard either. Im sure I could find out.
-The carfax pulled up clean but the last service showed that 1 tire was replaced and an alignment was done. Upon close examination of the truck, it looks like the rear passenger fender flare (not the dually bedside, just the little fender flare around the wheel well) may have been repainted. The salesman couldnt speak to it.
-No major cosmetic damage. Small dent in rear bumper. Couple scratches on the bed sides that I can polish out.
-The bed definitely looks used. The 5th wheel puck/covers are gone and there are some spots where the OEM bedliner has chipped off, primarily on the tailgate. No dents though.

MSRP sticker is 73,xxx. Asking price is 62k. If I can get them into the upper 50's i may jump on it.

What should I take a closer look at when I go back with the boss(wife)?

What trim level is that truck? Just a quick search on cars.com, you get a brand new 2019 for about that price.

2019 Laramie Mega Cab DRW, White, HO 6.7 w/ AISEN Trans, L1 Package, bucket seats, 5th wheel/hitch, oem bed liner.

It looks pretty nice. I wonder if they hit a curb or something and blew out that one tire. I would check all the wheels closely for rash/damage.

Things to think about.

I see it doesn't have the instrument panel aux switches. They make it easier if you plan to install aux lights or a compressor, etc without having to find places to mount switches. If you think you might use them, they are nice.

It doesn't have adaptive cruise control. If you have driven any vehicles with ACC, you can appreciate how nice it is. But it is just a "luxury" and definitely not necessary.

Overall, I like it. I would definitely try to get them down on the price. 62k is about how much that truck probably sold brand new. Based on the bed liner chips and the 5th wheel/gooseneck puck covers are missing, it was probably used as truck for those 12,000 miles. Which is fine, just more to take into consideration when working your deal.

I would also ask them to perform the 15,000 mile service on it as part of the deal. That will primarily consist of an oil change, fuel filter change, air filter, with a few other inspections.

You tried building the same truck new and seeing what that price would be? How much are you saving?

Moot point at the moment. The dealer didnt want to budge on price. That seems pretty typical for this dealer given the research I've done. I may need to head a little further north and pick up a new 2020 leftover at the end of the year, or find someone who will do a custom order with discounts.

Shoot, If I could get a Tradesman level package with a center console, ventilated seats, and a backup cam, I would be a happy man! It looks like you need no less than a laramie to get the ventilated seats.

There's a big thread here on what deals buyers got. I got around 11% off MSRP off an $87K truck and ordered exactly what I wanted.
