Noticed 3 spots in driveway from new 2024 2500 (Cummins). Fluid appears to be redish. Got under truck and saw couple places that seemed to be leaking. Any ideas? Taking to dealer tomorrow. My guess is transmission. Maybe the fluid is leaking/running to other areas as well? Just seems strange there would be 3 leaks.

Oof, looks like trans fluid if it’s oily and looks like oil leak where the engine and trans meet. Either way not fun for new truck

Only 400 miles on it so far. Taking it to dealer tomorrow to see what they say. Hoping it’s an easy fix. I’ll post on here what they find.

My father’s 22 had a small drop of red fluid, wiped it and it didn’t come back at all. I figured maybe something during the assembly. 1.5 years and 16k miles no issues. Yours looks like more of an issue though… Probably bad seal.

It looks like your transfercase output shaft seal is the main culprit. The little drip on your bellhousing may be assembly lube. I’d wipe that and check back. Do get it looked at by the dealer though.

Had the exact same thing on my ‘23, transfer case shaft seal. Fixed under warranty. Looks like the residual you see on the heat shield is from the shaft spinning and slinging fluid. This was mine -

My 23 had something that looked like oil in the front of the bell housing. When I wiped it I noticed it was kinda sticky. I assumed it was some sort of assembly lube, I haven’t seen anything since.

Definitely T-case output seal.

The fluid on the engine adapter plate and inspection cover of the Transmission may be the CATS rust preventative that they spray on to the block for shipping and storage protection. I would recommend wiping it off with a degreaser or solvent and then see if it returns. IMG_3224.jpeg

The transfer case output shaft was leaking on my 23 with less than 1,000 miles so the dealer replaced it. Just hit 10,000 miles so I did an oil change and found the output shaft leaking again

My 2023 Ram 3500 has the same thing. Just noticed today. Only 5500 miles on it.IMG_6544.jpeg

mbarber84 you just saved my ass a whole lot of worrying and grief!! I am new to diesels and new to Ram. I have a 2024 ram rebel with the 6.7l engine. I was doing some snooping around under my truck looking at and preparing to do my first oil change and fuel filter change. I stumbled across what looked like a leak from the inspection area of the engine and trans adapter housing. Typed what i saw into google and this forum popped up. I read your post and immediately went back to my truck with a black light. Sure enough it illuminated under the black light! So now i do not have to worry about that! Thank you for the great info!

You’re very welcome.
This is a prime example of why this forum is so valuable. You’ll very often get better info here than you will at a dealership or elsewhere. There are many very passionate people here who have incredible knowledge and experience with these trucks, many of whom are team members here. Stick around and you’ll be amazed at what you can learn. Thanks for taking the time to let us know, and welcome to the forum!

I just found this thread, because I am also dealing with something leaking on my 2024 RAM 2500. My RAM 2500 is 4 months old. I have 8 or so dark “oil-like” spots under my truck on my driveway. I’m trying to figure out where it is leaking. I’m planning to call the dealer tomorrow. This is not what I expected from a fairly new truck.

Where are these oil spots located in reference to the truck? What part of the truck is above them? All in the same spot or different spots? Any sign of a something wet underneath?
