Customer Satisfaction Notice 90A Diesel Exhaust Fluid

I know that I’m going tell my DEF to PISS off one day soon! I bought a couple jugs at the Costco and left them in the back overnight and they were roster stiff by morn. Maybe I can use them for curling rocks Eh. :oops:
I once had that problem. Now I am retired and avoid frozen DEF like the plague. I avoid frozen anything. Well, except margaritas. LOL

Ram Friends,
Just wanted to share a post on my 2021 that was completed this weekend. If this has been covered in previous threads you can ignore this thread. I had a service engine light on this winter when it got below 20F (code P20B9). When I took the truck in for the 90A recall
I had asked the service department to look at the code as well. Here is what was replaced:
90A recall: replaced DEF Delivery Module (Part #: CCGN90A1AA)
P20B9 Code: replaced reductant line heater control circuit (Part #: 57008975AA)
Plus 2.5 gallons of DEF

Based on replacing DEF fluid, I am guessing the DEF delivery module was inside the tank? I was thinking it was just a electronic control module on the outside of the tank. All work was covered under warranty including the service engine code.

Anyways, I am just sharing what was physically replaced to help anyone that might be wondering what is actually being replaced on the 90A recall.

[mod, thread merge]

The pump is in the tank bottom;

They also should have replaced the vent per the TSB.

I haven't seen this reported elsewhere yet but I received an unexpected letter from FCA this week. I haven't gotten around to doing the 90A recall on my 2022 4500 because it's still in the shop being put together.

So apparently if it's not broke, don't fix it and I'm good with that. I don't know if this is 4500 only but I don't know why it would be. Yes the DEF system is different on chassis cabs, but the original recall applied to all of the trucks I believe.

I got the same for my 2019 2500. What is good about this is now ill get my money back for the issues I had in the past hopefully. I reinstalled my emissions now as I was hoping to get the recall done now that they are cracking down on deletes here but with this notice I may have to have my tuner remove the use of the DEF system as I cant afford the downtime with frozen DEF systems
