Aev wheel install

Use anti seize on them

Why? Sounds like the perfect way to ruin an afternoon is getting anti seize off of every wheel surface.
Two dissimilar metals. A little on the bolt threads makes zero mess. Had two sets of saltas and never had to clean anti seize of the surfaces because i just put it on the bolt threads. I rotate tires ebery 3000-4000 milesFDDB267E-EDA4-4E92-ACFF-EFF667F7950C.jpeg6BBC385C-B4FF-4D31-AB98-120DA295EFE4.jpegB714D73A-993D-471B-8C79-77F897525410.jpeg

It’s a good suggestion that I admittedly ignored but only because I don’t have antiseize and they’re not super tight. If I were up north in the salt or if this gets to see more dirt which I hope it does, I would consider antiseize

I try to never use anti seize on anything because it never fails to get everywhere every single time I use it. Then again so does my food generally so maybe that is a personal problem. I can say I have never encountered any issues not running it and they salt the crap out of our roads here.

@Enve46 did the Salta's not come with the recess for the retainer clips on the lug bolts? I'm damn near positive mine did so I left them on but now you have me thinking. It's been 18k miles and nothing wonky so I hope I'm right. One of the reasons I went with AEV.

Honestly they may have but I didn’t check. I also make sure I remove those even if they do as it’s one less thing to cause an issue. I never see anyone mention it and in the last 3 days multiple people have asked in the Facebook pages for HD Rams so that’s why I added it in here. If you don’t have issues then I wouldn’t worry about it

@ Enve-46 man your Old Power Wagon was Very Sharp with that Color and AEV Wheels. Like the New one Better though.
Thanks, I definitely loved that PW, more so than I expected. The PXL has been great and I’m slowly getting it up to my standards. I should probably start a thread on it

Scored some used AEVs off marketplace which is about the only thing FB is good for these days. One thing I wanted to mention is removing the copper ring on the lug nuts before mounting aftermarket wheels. Dont see this mentioned at all so hopefully it’ll help someone. Leaving these in will cause vibrations and shakes that will leave anyone frustrated.

Anyway, got 5 wheels and tires and after selling my stocks it cost me $300. Wheels need a good polish to bring back to life but I’m not afraid of some good detail work. Need AlfaOBD to adjust tpms and tire size and will be good to go for few months and will swap these used tires out as well as they’re close to aging out. 37s look much better on the Power Wagons and with the AEV wheels they fit without any trimming and no rubbing.
Did you use the oem lugnuts and remove the washers

I got some aev Katla wheels about 2 months ago and they are getting rubbed/scratched up by the caliper. Has anyone else had this issue? They are suppose to be made for our trucks but the clearance is so tight it’s leaving marks on the wheels.

I can’t tell if that’s one wheel or multiple. Is it all four or did you get some debris in one?

Even the sticker weights don’t fit. The shop said they will need to use the hammer on weights on the inside

Yes. My kalta wheels had wheel weights on the inside of the wheel by the spokes. Most 17” wheels need wheel weights mounted that way to avoid clearance issues. Two sets of Methods I learned this.
