I want to add a strip of LED lights to serve as approach lights and illuminate my running boards. I’d basically like them to come on with the puddle lights, or maybe with the cargo lamp. Can anyone offer ideas how to make that happen?

I too am looking to do this. I did the same on my 17 ford and miss it already. Haven’t seen anything about it on this forum yet. There were quite a few over on the ford forum. I ended up tapping my cargo lights before, some were also able to plug right in to the factory running board plug which I didn’t have.
Would like to hear if anyone has done this on their 19 and the easiest way to go about it before I go the cargo light route again.

I know it was a different type of truck, but how did you route the wiring from the cargo light to the lights you added?

I believe there was a gromet under the carpet in the rear drivers side. Came up through there and ran up the c pillar after pulling the plastic. Then over to the cargo light after pulling the headliner.
I’m sure there’s an easier way or I could have traced the wire down the line a little closer but it worked. It was also nice to be able to turn the lights on with the push of a button(the one for the cargo lamp) these are what I used and have ordered again. First set crapped out after a winter, about a third of the leds quit. They sent me another set for free and didn’t have any issues with those.

That was what I was thinking as well. Comes on when you hit the unlock on the fob to illuminate approach and available on demand with the button in the cab. Thanks for sharing the link.

I'm looking at doing this as well. Strip of LEDs under the door that light up white when the door opens and also amber with the running lights. I'm thinking(hoping) that the appropriate wires to tap into are right at the door wiring harness as the puddle light wire and side marker mirror light wire seem like the perfect ones to do so. Does anyone on here have a wiring diagram for the doors?

I'm going to tie into the bed lighting with mine...
