I just bought a 2023 PW and was playing around with the settings and found the option to turn off DRL. However, there are still some lights staying on in headlights when the light switch is turned off.

I own a very large piece of property and sometimes get trespassers and I like to wait for them in my truck while it's running and have all headlights off. I'm coming for a 2013 RAM 1500 that when I had the lights off ALL lights were off.

I'm sure hoping there's a way so that I can have all the lights off at night so no one can see me waiting on the side of the road.

Thanks in advance...

RJ

Those are called accent lights. Only way to disable them is to unplug them probably. Not sure if it will affect anything else.

You can disable signature lighting with AlfaOBD, but then it’s going to stay off until you go back in and reprogram it.

You could also try enabling “Police Lighting”, but it may or may not work and may or may not have other unwanted consequences.

Thanks for the replies..

Guess I'm just going to have to deal with it or buy that AlphaOBD. It really sucks they would do this and not allow the owner to turn all lights off. I read on another forum to try and apply the emergency break but that doesn't work either.

You would nee alfaobd and turn the signature lighting off. Or buy a black out module.

The canadian trucks as of 2022 you cant turn the lights off at all. The joys of stupid people causing government over reach….

I'm pretty sure when deciding on features "Stalking Mode" wasn't on the list of things to consider lol

Daytime running light are a good safety measure. I live in Canada but work in the US and many times i don't see an oncoming vehicle that doesn't have DRLs until the last minute during iffy weather. Really appreciate the good things that have been implemented

I like being able to turn my DRL's on and off when needed, but the OP is asking about the signature lights not the DRL's.

Yea, we all did fine long before they put on DRLs. Guess we had less distractions and paid attention to our driving back in the day
I guess so, i have disabled the DRLs in every truck i have owned up until my 19 i still have to change the settings in AlfaOBD

We all did fine without LED lights and lane keep and 12" screens too.
Yea and i still do fine as i have none of those options…. The difference is none of those have been forced on people with government over reach like DRLs and the removal of the OFF option on the headlight switch.

I had the same problem with my 2020 Ram 2500, at sporting events I needed to turn off the truck. I have a Boss Snowplow wiring harness on it do I can switch to plow lights and as long as the plow isn’t attached all lights are out.

You must have halogen lights? The LED headlights have signature lighting that the plow lights wont turn off
