Re-Ordered My 2020 Ram 3500 HO Laramie Longhorn

Thats me on the alpha obd, I want one but Im afraid of what ill do with it and screw something up. I'd actually be interested to hear from some folks what they were able to change in there system with the alpha obd. From most of my listening in on this topic that you need to purchase extra wire harnesses and it doesn't seam to really correct most of our major b/+@#=s that we have with this model. I love to see the systems info as much as the next guy, ( it's very fascinating), but what can you actually change with the alpha obd? I ask this ? As some one who is interested not as a smart alleck.

Well, for starters, we can enable add on options (like TTPMS) with the right parts.

I've changed my DRL settings.

What I've not been able to change is the dang max speed or min cruise speed or enable the global down windows.

You don't need AlphaOBD to see a lot of the data, any ELM327 OBDII reader that works with the Torque app will do. There's even a custom table for Torque for our trucks.

Ive got a generic obdll reader that seams to do all that stuff. I've already got the add on stuff so no need for the alpha. I want to fix stuff like.
1: auto fold in mirrors with ignition on/off
2: engine brake stays set on last used setting
3: seat heat/air vents to come on when YOU set what temp YOU want
4: quicker throttle response so no dead peddle
5: aux camera function to not time out
6: auto down mirrors to be set at your specific angle
7: mirror cams to come on when blinker used
8: eliminate not allowing wife to type coordinates in while driving
9: ???
10: ??
Im sure there's a couple more things that I would change if I could. DO NOT misunderstand me. I love this truck, nicest thing I've ever owned. I'm just saying that if I could correct some issues that annoy me, these would be them. From what I've collected listening in, that alpha obdll wont do any of these things. If I'm mistaken please reply.

Mark @RamCares ,

I sent you 2 new PM's today pertaining to warranty issues not being covered or not being found by dealer to do the repair that you stared were in the CDI Package.

I took delivery of vehicle and extra keys back on 4-17-20 and Dealer still can't cut me the 2 keys that came in the extra keys they furnished at point of sale due to the Key Code not being in the system, However the remote part works fine.. I have tried several locksmith in my area and the say the can't cut this stubby key with this type head on it. They say they won't fit in their machine. (see image below) If I am out of town and loose my keys, I won't be able to unlock my vehicle as dealers don't have the info on file to make me a key ? Parts department says the keep sending emails to FVA to fix this but it never gets fixed. Even Service Manager and General Manager have sent emails so they say.

Can you help me out Please? Thanks

Thanks for getting back with me. I will send you a PM shortly

Just to keep everyone informed in this new situation, Several days ago, I PM'd Mark @RamCares in regard to what was going on. Mark has now escalated the case on what they promised me before I re-ordered my replacement truck, Most of the items promised have all worked out but the Dealer still can't find the following in my records for some reason even though I gave the dealer a printed copy of the PM between RamCare and me. Ram cares won't call the dealer of give me a number to reach the person that promised the items to me. I was told to contact even more people it get involved in the soon to be a bad situation.

1) I was promised in writing that I had glass ding protection and dealer couldn't find it so I had to pay out of the pocket.

2) I was informed by the dealership finance manager when I received the Autonation 84 month extended warranty that it would supposedly cover me bumper to bumper including the Emissions/Particulate filter for 84 months, Service department told me it is not, only 50. I even have a witness to what I was told

3) For some unusual reason the dealer can't cut me the 2 physical keys in the additional Key Fobs as they say, My VIN didn't populate correctly while my vehicle was being built. They are hopefully still working on this. Now they have hinted that they may have to reprogram the 4 keyfobs that I have that are working correctly and re-program my truck computer (which is also working correctly) to get a new key code for my vehicle. This sound unusual to me. all I need is the 2 additional keys cut to the same pattern as the Original keys. I cant find a locksmith in my that is able to copy the 1 original keys either due to the unusually large key head and shortness of the key blank. Also, If I loose one of my keyfobs while out of town, a dealer wont be able to help me at all until thy git this situation resolved.

4) I was also suppose to receive 2 years, 4 synthetic oil and filter changes but the dealer can only find info for 1 year with 2 oil changes.

5) First Day Loaner car info and Next Bay Service could not be found in the system either.

I hope this and some of the other items I have discussed with them get resolved soon as I am in need to replace several of my company vehicles here soon and would like to get then from a dealer and Company I can fully trust.

I would like to apologize for venting some of my frustration here as I am tired of calling numbers and being transferred to all different people, wasting several days to attempt to get this corrected wit NO success. I have even talked to the Sales Manager about a buy back on my new Ram and forget FVA even exists if we can't get this resolved soon.

I have bought Mopars for most of my life and still own a bunch of them. This past weekend, I even started selling off some of my Mopar classics collector cars I have collected over most of my life, This is how frustrated I am over this entire deal.

If you all don't see me much on the forum for a while, don't worry (I just have to take a break for a while), I will still be around an let you know how things are going as I am informed and to its outcome.

Hate to hear your still going through such difficulties with your deal. It shouldn't be that hard to do the things that you were promised. This whole purchase has been a train wreck for you since the get go, nobody should have to endure what you have.
The only thing I can compare to your situation is the 2yrs of oil changes. I was promised from my dealer the 2yrs of ram cares but as we know they cant promise something that's only available to Texas residents only, which is plain stupid on its own account. Two weeks after owning the new vehicle snd not being able to refile this promised issue, i contacted ram customer care. They were great for me and empathetic to my complaint. They said they could not provide the 2 yrs of ram cares with 4 oil changes but they can offer a 2 yr plan with 3 oil changes at no charge wich is not a ram care deal. She was vey helpful and over the following weak she sent me the agreement terms and added it to my owners acct pg.
Brother hemi, if there is anything any of us can do to help, just let us know. Anyone on here who knows your story, knows the he'll that they have put you through, wich you have handled like a champ. I could of never have weathered your storm.

Thanks @Rich

I've got so upset over this deal, I parked my ram in the barn last week and driving my Boss 429 around for a while, seeing I couldn't get my old GTO Judge to start, so I sent it over to my mechanic shop to be worked on. I can't stand to look at a Mopar at the moment. I sold my 1970 Plymouth 426 Superbird and my 1956 DeSoto Firedome 2-door this past weekend. I now have to try to get my blood pressure down.

I would like to say that some of us have been there with the stress and high blood pressure also, but I don't think many could compare to what you've gone through, can't imagine still going through that whole ordeal. When we spend 85k on a pick up truck, especially during these times, ram ought to be kissing our @$$=$ but instead they're trying to screw us on the extras. I know we all got great deals but I would of thought it would of been a whole lot easier and smoother considering there lucky to be selling anything right now.
Im NOT by any means promoting my strategy to anyone, but I to had to go dark for a while and set all the drama aside and catch my breath and regroup and partake in some adult extras. Do what's best for hemi, were all different and have had different experiences to deal with. You still got allot to add to this group of diesel heads no matter what you drive.
Just make sure it's not a ferd, that's really damn near impossible to overlook. ;)
