That's some serious FUDD stuff there.
Nothing wrong with hunting an an AR as long as you're using a suitable caliber.
Have known friends to hunt with an AR-10's in .308 (7.62) and other large game calibers. Hell, one guy even used his M1A. He just like carrying heavy sh*t in the field.
When I went deer hunting with my dad in Southern NY I had my M1A. I didn't own a bolt action except for my 03A3 and 1917. lol
If he was a dog he would sniff every a**hole in sight.
