TPMS (TIS) sensors for trailer (SOLVED - see 1st post) aka TTPMS - Trailer TPMS

And another question: What exactly is AlphaOBD programming? Once I set it up for the TPMS, what happens when I go to the dealer and there is an update?
If there’s ever a recall that has to do with the BCM programming, or if there is an issue where the dealer needs to “restore vehicle configuration”, then any changes made with AlfaOBD will revert, and you will have to change them again.

Thestuarts video and Brutal's list of the parts needed should be a separate sticky on the main page. This is huge!

To be clear, my summary was mostly a regurgitation of @thestuarts parts list and several other contributions.

I'm working on updating the original post now as the OP has been MIA.... stay tuned.

First post has been edited to include all the info and links to instructions.

@thestuarts let me know hen you get your video completed and I will add that link.

I'd appreciate peer review and any corrections, please PM to me. If there's anyone that deserves credit that was left out, let me know.

Understand. Just thought it would be a good sticky so other new members wouldn't be searching through dozens of pages in this thread for instructions and parts. Thank you sir.

OK, I am close. All modules installed. AlphaOBD serial number in hand. But alas, I have seemed to have hit a roadblock. I followed the instructions to the tee regarding AlphaOBD and it appears to have written the information. However, the graphic of the trailer doesn't come up on my dashboard, only the words "Trailer Tire Pressure System Not Configured." One time, as I turned off the ignition, for a fraction of a second the trailer graphic appeared as the truck turned off.

I looked back in this thread (man, lots of stuff here) and see I need to unplug the radio fuse. Now, if I can only find it.

Unplugging the radio fuse will work, but has a lot of undesired effects (IMHO). IF you're seeing the tire pressure options in Uconnect, that's what the fuse pull is forcing the BCM to update the radio display option.

Try cycling the Run button a few times and/or getting the keyfob away from the truck for 15 mins or so.

I think the trailer graphic is going to show on a different screen in the EVIC, possibly during the setup phase, but would have to go look.

Thanks, I will try that. I can't seem to find the fuse anyway. Apparently, some guy at Ram decided not to put it in the fuse box. I drove the truck, stopping several times and turning it off. So far, no luck seeing the tire pressure in Uconnect.

I know that I am probably reaching here; But has anyone attempted the TTPMS on a Cab/Chassis? I have the 5" stereo with back-up camera and built with the "Tire Pressure Information System" but I do not see an additional plug hanging in the back for the module. Is the dummy plugged branched off the camera harness?

If it was built with it, everything should already be there. If you see a module on the rear frame member, that is the receiver.

Wow, who knew that finding the fuse was the worst part of this? I just pulled it and am waiting a few minutes as instructed....

No there is nothing back there, on the C/C styles everything has to be be up-fitted with the kit supplied by FCA. The camera was added when the bed was installed, but just wondering if the camera harness has a pig tail coming off it for the module, or can someone tell me the wire colors? I can not tell in your instruction pic what the exact colors are. This truck was ordered in mid 2019 so doubtful module was available at that time... Thank you for your help!!!

Ok, fuse put back in and I now have a TPMS system. But, as nothing has come easy today, I lost all cameras: surround cameras, rear back-up and cargo...everything. Any suggestions?
Oh, they show up in the settings but just don't come on and I get a blue screen.

Thay will all come back. Had my battery disconnected to install the trailer camera wiring and it did the same thing. I was freaked. I thought I broke the truck. Waited over night and all was normal.

Why I wasn't going to pull my fuse. Wait for the TTPMS stuff to show up or wait for everything else to come back online... A horse apiece.

Well, I've got to jump here with my 2 cents worth. Now you all know that i hate to brag. Everyday i learn something new from you all on this forum on trying to hack into your ttpms with your obdll s and pulling down head liners and looking all over the rear and trying to program and things not showing up and disconnecting fuses and just let it set for the night all in hopes that a picture will pop up the next morning. Quite frankly I'm wore out from all y'all stress. Few we. I took 2 of my tires to the dealer today to have sensor valve stems installed for $ 40.00. Now I'm all wore out from a hard days work. Yah no, i take that back, I do like to brag. I need a drink from all the stress. :p :D:cool:

I just wanted to say thanks to all who took the time and effort to figure out how to get this done. I was very disappointed in Ram when I received my truck and the TPMS wasn't there; this after seeing movies and such touting its existence. Shame on Ram for doing this to customers. This is my 1st Ram as I have been a loyal Ford guy my entire life. It would be nice for Ram to reimburse us for the parts but I won't hold my breath.

One benefit to this was I was able to adjust my DTE (Distance to Empty) on my dash while using AlphaOBD. I took my car to the dealer and they could not do it. I contracted with a diesel tuner as he told me he could do it; he couldn't and I got my money back. Then, while in AlphaOBD, I see the menu selection for the gas tank. I had to convert gallons to liters and after entering the proper number of liters for my Titan fuel tank and immediately after pressing the program button, I saw my Range meter showing the true miles to empty. Pretty cool!

So, thanks to the guys who took the time to document the install, programming, parts list, and everything else to get this done. And thanks to Jimmy07 for the harness that apparently still isn't available. You guys should all be proud of the reverse-engineering you did to do for us what Ram would not. you guys rock!

Good luck with the reimbursement. I was promised a voucher from a fca rep that I would recieve a voucher for the rear retractable step they shanked us on.
