Hwy need to get a set of chains for my 2022 PW. These would be for off-roading and the occasional icy mountain roads as well. Looking at something like this, but need advice on clearance on the truck.

I've upgraded the tires to BFG K02 315/70/R17, and I know the manual says no chains on the front but I see many people doing it. Seem there would be plenty of clearance.
What are some reputable brands?

I run the cheaper round link rear cam chains they sell.

I've never tried running any up front although a few folks here have posted using some in the past.

You don't want to snag a wheel speed sensor cable. If you do you'll no longer have a 4WD truck.

I prefer to get a chain with ice bars welded onto the chain and get as many links crossing the read as possible. Cheap chains won't have as many on the treads.

I carry a set of Les Schwab's quick fit chains in my PW at all times. Although with my studded snow tires I haven't needed them yet in this beast LOL

I have a set of v bars (blue jay industrial) for the rear and low profile cables (peerless brand I think) for the fronts

^^^This is the way. I use lightweight "diamond" style chains on the front when necessary.
When running chains/cables on the front, don't disconnect your swaybar and don't turn to full lock.

Leaning towards these now.. Anyone have any experience with them?

I haven't needed them yet, but I have a set of those in the correct size in the truck for in case the wildepeaks aren't sufficient. I am sure they will do the job if needed.

I definitely would not put them on the front, but am leaning towards a set of autosock devices for the front if I get to the point of actually needing them. I think I saw Casey Ladell doing snow towing in them and he seemed to suggest they were good and potentially easier than traditional chains on his Ford wrecker.

I run similar chains on my 275/70R18’s and on a stock setup (‘18 and ‘22 3500 auto level trucks) rubbed slightly on the anti-sway bar on both trucks as well as the rear wheel liners on the ‘18. This last summer I upgraded to a Thuren anti-sway bar on the ‘22 and did a few miles in 4 chains last weekend without any rubbing.

I’m pretty confident that 315’s and chains would rub all over the place, front and rear. The chains make the tire a bit taller and wider. I don’t have the same suspension thou, but a 275/70R18 turns into a 35x12.50 with chains. A 315/70R17 probably turns into a 37x13.50 with chains, could you fit that without rubbing?

Can’t really point you to the chains I run thou, as they are not available from what I’ve seen. They are 20+ years old and were standard twisted link chains with cam-lock’s. We then added twisted link V-bar crossbars between each standard twisted link. When I got the 2018 I had to add a link to the inside chain to make them fit. I’ve put a few hundred miles on them the last 3 hunting seasons, all on single lane rough USFS roads and never had an issue.. even towing steep grades at 23K GCW. Sure do love the piece of mind when I use them on skinny/slick roads with huge drop offs and the camber always goes the wrong direction.

They fit great and do amazing off-road. I’d likely never use them on a paved surface thou, and keep one pair of quick fits in the truck in the event I need to chain up on a paved road.

We got 8” that wasn’t forecast last Friday, which delayed us leaving by a day. Was fun to play around it and get to use chains. The next morning it was 8°….

Didn’t get many pics thou, both those are from last elk season. I went a long time without using my chains, but it’s now been three seasons in a row.

I always carry a set of some quick fits but haven't ever had to use em.

I have never put chains on anything cause here. There have been times hunting upstate…coulda used em’.
Want some for that but have so much crepe in the truck already, heavy.

...could you fit that without rubbing?
I'll find out for sure this weekend when I test fit them. I emailed the company before I bought them to confirm their fit and they said yes..
There is a ton of space around the tires on the rear so I dont think it will be an issue..
