Hello,
This may be a foolish question so flame away. I have a ‘21 4500 4wd diesel. I had a few reasons for going with a 4500 over a 3500 and it is not a daily driver. The heaviest payload I’ll have is my camper which put me at 5500lbs up front. I’ve since added an AEV bumper and winch, so let’s say 6k.
I currently have a kelderman 2 stage in the rear and a 1.5” spacer in the front with core 4x4 control arms pushing the axle about 1” forward.
I’m planning to add some better shocks up front which makes me pull the coils again and wouldn’t mind another .5” of lift while I’m at it. The spacers are cheap and ride isn’t terrible as is. The kelderman made a huge difference.
Everyone says the Carlis made a huge difference. So, if perch sizes aren’t off and I can find a length that works, why not do this instead of a spacer? Anyone see this done before? Anyone able to measure their carli compressed? I am at 13”. I’d want them to be 15 to eliminate the spacer. I think the inside diameter of the coil is 4.75 or 5” but will need to measure again.
Thanks.
