I'm in the process of buying a truck. I haven't bought a new car in over 20 years. Last car I bought was a certified used Toyota, with 2 years of use, and I didn't sweat it. I'm in the market for a RAM 3500 Big Horn 4x4 6'4" Box.

This is a deal that popped out:

So we are talking about a 12% off MSRP........Is this too good to be true?. Average?......a good deal and I should pull the trigger?
To be sure, I'm asking specifically about the discount, not weather the car I'm looking is a good deal at an MSRP of $86265

Thanks a lot.

12% off is common at several volume dealers across the country. The dealers are far and few between but the deals are out there. Some are 12% off + incentives. If that truck works for you I wouldn’t shy away from that deal.

Make sure you qualify for all of those discounts. And if you do, that's a decent deal for a Ram HD on the dealers lot.

I just got my truck literally yesterday and didn't a month looking for a good deal.

I ended up going with Mark Dodge so price compare with them, they were great to work with.

I ended up getting 12.3 percent off msrp before incentives and 17.3 percent off after.

The 1500 off is about to fall off tomorrow.

You should be able to get a free 1000 off by putting in your name/email at ram trucks.com in the popup that first appears.

There are also a few other 500 off codes you can get for being a member of certain organizations, but you have to be a member for 30 days or more before the dealer will agree to give you the discount.

Good luck with your search!

For my area of Florida, that would be a pretty good buy. At that price, I assume it has a fair amount of options?

It has everything I want + night package, which I don’t care for, but the front looks cool. My exact configuration is $82k MSRP. So ostensibly I could try to get 12-17% off that price, instead of $86k.

One thing I forgot to ask, is it an HO motor? My son bought a 2022 Bighorn 3500 dually, with every option but sunroof, and it's an HO/Aisin, for $75K used

Seems like a solid deal for a 3500, but I think you might be able to get another couple $K off that price if you negotiate a bit.

I’m assuming it’s new, so if you haven’t yet hop on the Ram website, build a truck and when you get to the end you can click to go back or view dealer inventory it should give you a pop to enter your email address for a $1K off coupon to be used in the next 30 days. Be aware that it can take up to 48 hours for your dealer to be able to see that code.

I recently purchased a 2023 2500 Laramie Cummins w/Sport package for $70K, MSRP on the truck was just over $83K.

So I called the dealer today, an they told me the car was stolen from the lot o_O

That's definitely something that concerns me with these trucks. The demand for 1 tons is so great now, theft is bound to go up. I got my 2021 literally weeks before the insanity broke out, snagged it for $59K, and there would be difficulty in replacing it.

There's only one question to see if it is a good deal - honestly - if the only discounts you're getting are automated from RAM (employee code, regional rebate bonus cash, etc) then NO you are not there yet.
Those programs should be honored by any dealer around the country. The variation is in what dealer discount is available to you. Don't let EP code be the END of your negotiation!

It would not be hard to replace it. Ordered trucks are coming through pretty fast. It would be damn hard to replace it for that price though!!
