Anybody think one on a 22k mile Powerwagon is worth $80 plus the trouble of my install?
Steering is still tight and right…stock height.

I always viewed Rough country as low budget lift kits and related products. Have they upped their game in recent years? Last experience I had with them was a leveling kit for a super duty I had owned. At that time it was meh.

CJC says to replace the track bar at about 25K.
Thinking of changing mine, but going with a Thuren one. Got 45K on it now. Have some sway. Might just do both front and rear.
Thuren?!…you must be rich. Mine won’t have 45k on it for five more years probably.
It’s in the classified section of my local shooting forum…meh.

…speaking of which, you are in state now?….good place to buy stuff you don’t need

Been here 3 months now.
Loving the peace and tranquility of living out away from everyone.
Already picked up a few toys.

Not rich with money.
Retired and on a fixed income now.
PW is our main driver. Sold everything but the wife's truck and off road toys.
I was a bit surprised I put that many miles on already. But it's a 30 Mike drive from the house to go anywhere. 22 just to get to the 395 freeway.

Congrats, man…living the dream

I’ve always wondered why Thuren recommends replacement of the track bar so early. I mean when the truck turned 30k old part of my inspection was having someone turn the steering wheel sharply back and forth while I watched the track bar - absolutely no play in the bushings.

Well its clearly to sell more trac bars as the stock can last a long time i know some 4th gens with 300k km still on the original trac bar!

Lol I agree.

There is something to be said about a harder bushing or different kind of joint over stock aiding in keeping the axle planted - thereby helping steering feedback and response. But “worn out”, especially on a stock truck is just plain wrong.

Just like elephantrider, I added the RC adjustable front and rear when I did my lift so I could get everything re-centered. As he stated, when I put them on they were super easy to adjust. Haven't needed to since, but that's only been about 35k miles.

If you need one, I wouldn't let the perception of their other parts sway you elsewhere. But if you just don't need one, then keep on truckin'.

The cjc and thuren recommendation to replace the trackback at 20k miles is on lifted applications that put extra stress on it and change the angles.

The factory trackbar is totally fine for a long time until it starts to have play at the joints then you might as well upgrade it.

But is the track bar on the PW, which is lifted 2 inches, the same as the track bar on the other 2500s without the factory 2 inch lift?

Is it really considered a “Lift” if its factory hight? Lol the PW trac bar is a different P/N because its longer to accommodate the taller ride hight of the PW

Thuren also says that the 20K replacement track bar is for 2012 and older 2500's. Also if they are lifted as it places the axle back to the center of the wheel well. They have quite a few vids on YouTube expaining this.
