Tell me about your VSIM

Just went home to try grounding the input. And no go. V sim only functions with key on. Still I don't know if my truck has the vsim enabled I'm guessing it does but only because I found the 6 wire connector under my dash that had power ground and can lines going to it. Out in my fuse fuse panel I found a fuse that was labeled vsim2 and when fuse is removed I lost power to that connector.
If your truck did not come from the factory with a VSIM module installed, it is not enabled. This is not a guess.
Just get AlfaOBD, the bypass, the OBD interface, and enable the VSIM in the BCM and be done with it…please…

And none of it did me any good vsim enabled and still not working with out ignition. I will say though that alpha obd sure has ALOT of parameters that can be checked and adjusted!

Hey everyone - I often get a lot of customers ordering HDs and select the Aux Switches, but are hesitant to add the VSIM because they're not quite sure if they'd need it. (To me, very small price tag as % of vehicle, and no, I'm not paid on commission lol). Many of these guys seem to be approaching retirement and beginning to plan about towing 5th wheels for more extended travel, or upgrading what they're currently working with, etc.

I'd be curious to hear from some of you on what you are actually using your VSIMs for in real world, not just the general theory of what it could be used for. Perhaps that may help some of our inquiries to think more future-proof, and help some forum members here see/hear some ideas here as well?

Thanks in advance for any ideas!
I have a 2024 5500. It was delivered from the factory with two fuel tanks. The 52 in the rear and the 22 mid-ship tank. My upfitter deleted the aft 52 gallon tank to make room the Liquid Spring suspension components. The 22 gallon mid-ship tank was replaced, aced with a Transfer Flow 40 gallon mid- ship tank upgrade. Everything worked fine till I took the truck to the dealer to have them investigate my blinking steering wheel (Cruise Control and EVIC) buttons. Anytime the headlights are ON they blink. Each side blinks I. Its own patter but it is very consistent. The dealer ca t figure out what is going on and replaced the steering wheel modules, the steering control module and the steering wheel wire bundle. In the process of all that they also updated the BCM. Not my fuel gauge not longer works and I have a blinking Fuel Pump symbol of the dash.
I suspect that when they updated the BCM they un-did something that the upfitter did when deleting one of my fuel tanks.
Using AlfaOBD I found a setting that stopped the fuel pump icon from flashing continuously, but I have not figured out how to the the fuel level to display. The needle just sit at zero.
I’m guessing that the VSIM might be involved as I see that there is the black connector installed. And it appears that pin14 on the connector has something to do with fuel quantity.

Jimmy07? Do you have idea how to get my fuel quantity to display?
