On pennz 0w40.

The only thing that matters is the last sentence under "Engine Oil": "Equivalent full synthetic SAE 0W-40 engine oil can be used but must have to API Donut trademark".

Pretty much any 0W-40 you can buy at the store meets the requirements. MS-A0921 is just a certification that oil manufacturers have to pay Stellantis to get.

the Amazon oil does not meet the 2022 6.4 requirements I forget the new MS number 10???

They are both the exact same oil.

And as mentioned, any API marked 0W40 can be used.

Actually has to have an API rating of SP which is what A0921 is. and the API has zero to do with oil weight. 12633 has an API of SN designed for older engines. MS numbers dictate how many minerals are in the oils. Screenshot 2023-09-10 172902.png

I had to go running out to my shed to see if all the Amazon PUP I had bought (4 oil changes worth!!) was good for my rig after reading above that it's not.
Sur'nuff, it's got the API Donut service category 20. Whew!! I'm good to go.

All PUP 0W40 is the same. It's the bottle/label that might be different. They don't make different formulations of it. Feel free to go to Pennzoil's website and see for yourself. It's the same oil today as it was 5, 10 however many years ago. You're free to look up virgin oil analysis's of it over the years. BITOG is a great resource for that.

Chances are the pictures on one site are not the current bottle/label. And even if you get oil with the older bottle/label, it's still good to use.

I'll take Pennzoil's word they are different
From BITOG so there must be a difference

You're literally pointing out the difference between Platinum and Ultra Platinum.

The 6.4 uses Ultra Platinum. The only Platinum version of 0W40 is euro spec.
