Price negotiated from MSRP

Well gents, I finally pulled the trigger!

Just purchased a 2019 Laramie 2500 Mega Cab loaded with just about every package and the Cummins. Have been searching for a while and found one in Kentucky for $18k under MSRP! $59k sales tag, $61k out the door, plus they are adding wheel to wheel side steps, tinting and shipping to me in Colorado for free. Great deal?

Here she is on the lot pre-tint and new side steps. A carli level and 37in nittos and she will be perfect.

Would you mind telling me which dealer? I've been trying to search nation-wide as well, but RAM's website only lets you search within 150 miles of a zip code, and Autotrader is hit-or-miss on new car inventory. I've basically exhausted myself trying to find a 2019 BH or Laramie with the TOW package for a good price. Today is the last day of the May incentives, and I don't know what June's will look like. I've only been seeing 12-15% off MSRP, have really been thinking 20% wouldn't be unreasonable with demand where it is, but every dealer has told me they are out of inventory since the factories are still 3+ months away from getting them more stock.

I just picked up the 2020 with 14% off MSRP, 0% financing, and $500 rebate. I also extended the factory warranty 5/ 75,000 for $1290 and $200 deductible. I could have done better on the factory warranty, but I got an excellent deal.

Would you mind sharing your dealership?

Noticing the Limited trim is most likely to get 20% off MSRP. Having a bench in the front row is a dealbreaker for me and I don’t think that’s an option on the Limited.

20 % on 19 or 2020 also?

I had a trade with no financing. So it could be funny numbers based upon what they gave me for the trade. But I was happy with the trade value FWIW.

Just got my $250 bonus drive check in the mail. Make sure y’all sign up for that free money if you’re eligible after purchase.

2019s. However I’ve now found a few Laramies at 19% off MSRP. I’ve given up looking for a BigHorn that meets my needs, and am looking at Laramies now. The $$$ just keeps climbing.

I was wondering if I should order, to avoid falling too far behind what seems like a 3+ month order-to-pickup timeline. Can I order and if I find something while waiting cancel the order before delivery? I have been googling a “cancellation policy” of some sort with Dennis Dillon, etc but no luck. Suppose I have to call unless anyone here knows the answer.

I’m not sure on Dennis Dillon’s policy but typically they’re going to want a deposit of some amount; I’ve seen as low as $500 and as high as $2500. When I signed off for mine at a different dealer, it outlined conditions in which I could bail (truck arrived different than the order, damage, etc.). That said I paid my deposit with my credit card in case things got whacky. I could earn points on it and file a charge back if the dealer got totally dishonest.

I received the attached quote from Dennis Dillon. The only issue is I am in Texas and they do not ship... the other concern I have is no other dealerships can get anywhere close to the $65k Dennis is asking...and some are even warning me that this dealership uses the bait and switch technique and tends to hide fees that will show up on the final sticker price. Does anyone have experience ordering/purchasing from them? What was your experience like? Did you walk away with the best deal or did you walk away without a vehicle?

Couldn’t get those dealer add ons off no matter how I tried, but they cut them in half at least (was $2280 at first). Comes out to ~ 17.69% off MSRP before DOC and taxes... and I TOTALLY scored with that nitrogen, paying a measly $97.50 for air.

Can you give us the rundown on what exactly those add ons are?

I'm always airing my tires up to 80 and down to 50 loaded, vs empty, so don't see the use in nitrogen. Improves the ride 100% when empty!

well, besides a way to add profit back into the deal?

GPS - apparently a module that sits in the glove box and can be tracked. Dealer claimed this was on all their vehicles for theft insurance. Also said it comes with an insurance supplement for the buyer, and can be tracked (like when the kids take your 6900# 3/4 ton out for a spin)

polysteel - a treatment for the interior. Comes with a 5-year warranty for any blemishes / stains / etc

red brake light - module that flashes the center brake light. Comes with a supplemental insurance plan that if rear-ended it will pay your deductible (why would I be paying a deductible if rear-ended?), or if vehicle is totaled will pay for it (again, why wouldn’t the offender’s or my insurance not pay?)

nitrogen - I loved the response of “I can’t take the nitrogen out of the tires”

On a 2019 especially you could have played hardball on those ADP add-ons but if you're happy with the deal that's all that matters in the end.
