2022 3500 DRW Center Caps making noise

Probably - but my point is check the metal area of where they snap/snug up over on for potential damage that might cause a secure but loose fit that leads your click clacking. Hopefully that makes sense.

Understood. I did check that. No sign of any damage that would lead me to believe the lug nuts are contributing to the lack of a secure fit.

At this point I don’t think there’s anything else to figure out. Seems like it’s just a substandard, low quality plastic cover that was outsourced to a lower cost manufacturer. My 2017 never had this issue and there is a stark difference in the overall build quality between a 2017 cover and a 2022. If my truck was the only one having the issue I would be more inclined to believe it’s a one-off issue. Unfortunately it sounds like there are many others having the same issue.

As you said, the covers utilize plastic tabs that do not seem to be very stalwart. I’m surprised they hold as well as they do, given the flex. The shape of the caps definitely increases the sound.

I used Fluid Film as it seems to stand up to water. I sprayed a little on the inside of the hollow post that snaps over the lug nut. I just used my finger to spread it around the inside and then snappedd the cap back onto the studs. Don't apply it to the studs as the centrifugal force will spread the lubricant all over your wheel. At least if that solves your problem you will know for sure where the noise is coming from. BTW, I have driven and towed over 6000 miles since putting on the fluid film and the caps are still there.

Do your center caps have metal clips that snap on the wheel nuts? My night edition black caps are 100% plastic and make no noise

Mine either... 0 noise whatsoever.

It sounds like something is loose inside them in the video??? Strange indeed
