Plastic trim for rear of bed above bumper

Does anyone know if there is a trim piece available for the rear of the bed just above the rear bumper? Specifically, when looking at the rear of the truck you can see (on my truck) the white side edge of the bed just above the bumper. Is there an OEM piece for that or is it paint time?
Thanks.

I'm lost, Post a pic.

They (sometimes) put a piece of clear rock guard on the bottom of the bed side back there. But that doesn't really sound like what you're trying to describe.

This is where I’m looking at. Below the bottom edge of the tailgate and above the rear bumper. It’s the rearmost edge of the bed that you can see.

The metal there is already painted with the same paint as the rest of your truck. What color would you paint it? I guess white makes the gap more noticeable than the darker colors, but all trucks have that gap. You could also do what I did and put a light bar there.

If I paint it, it’ll be a satin black color to blend in with the bumper. For some reason it just looks “unfinished”. I’ve also considered a light bar. Do you have a link to that one?

Paint will be the most efficient, I agree with you, especially on a white truck, it stands out as unfinished.

I also did a thing on the sides but in that case I used matte black body side molding. Full details here https://hdrams.com/forum/index.php?threads/dans-2023-2500-tradesman-unlimited.14060/post-263012

Alligator John, does that light bar interfere with access to the spare tire lowering winch connection?

This looks fantastic, what kind of paint did you use? I wonder how the Dupli Color Rocker guard would hold up, its a black textured paint. Do you have a finished pic with the tailgate attached you can share?
One of the first things I noticed on my truck was this area, and agree it looks unfinished.

It comes with plastic clips that mount with double side tape, so you can snap it off out of the way if you have it centered over the hole. I mounted mine with rare earth magnets and do have it centered in that gap and over the spare tire hole. I can just push mine up out of the way to access the spare tire if need be. I posted about it in the "what did you do to your ram today" thread. https://hdrams.com/forum/index.php?...o-to-your-ram-today.1987/page-376#post-271772

Reverse puts out a decent amount of light, but it is not going to be anything like a pod, flood, or spotlight. but up close, it really lights things up. I don't remember noticing it washing out the camera at all.

I just used plastidip. The area really doesn't catch any traffic so any paint will do, others on the forum have reported great results with cheap rattle can black, anything on there makes it go away nicely without blocking the spare tire hole.
One pic below has a nick in the dip but I fixed after.

I would never do that on my green power wagon. I don't think it would be a very noticeable difference with mine and that area on the side will be covered with mud and dirt much of the time anyway, but I do have to say after seeing the pictures, on white, that black under the side and tailgate looks really nice.

I agree with you, white just is so obvious (and maybe silver) all the other colors you never even notice it. Much like the rear wheel well liners on a white truck, must have, just looks bad otherwise.Image 1-14-23 at 2.46 PM.jpg

The paint on the rear looks great. Thanks for the reply. My PW has side molding already so I’m ok there.

I went ahead and did the satin paint. Looks a ton better. Thanks for the suggestions.

Did you have to go over the spare tire grommet?
