Curb weight base model 2500

Anybody here have a truly BASE model Ram 2500, crew cab 4x4 with Hemi engine? Have you ever weighed it to see where it tips the scales?

My Tradesman with just a couple of options was 7,040 lbs with me in it.

Base weight from the factory according to GVRW - Payload is 6,911 lbs
10,000 - 3,089 = 6,911

I was moving some large items in the bed of my truck so I had to empty the bed and take off the 5th hitch and MX4 cover so after I finished I thought I’d take everything out of the truck and go to the CAT scale. The results were, the front axle was 5380 lbs. rear was 3219 lbs. which equals 8600 lbs total... My payload is 3572 lbs so the curb weight is 8728 lbs.

So to me the total weight of 8600 lbs. with me in the truck and 1/3 full tank of diesel in a 50 gallon tank seems too heavy to me.

Look in the brochures or the online charts that will show you the absolute base weight.

My math is correct. The base weight or “curb weight” of my truck as built when it rolled of the line is 6,911 lbs.
I subtracted the payload (3,089 lbs) from the 10k GVWR.

I thought you were pretty clear. Base (curb) weight = 6911. Yours scaled @ 7040.

Mine with the Rambox and my stuff plus me is 7420 pounds.
